How to Use Photo Mode in Kena: Bridge of Spirits | Screen Rant

Photo Mode in Kena: Bridge of Spirits features tons of different filters and settings players can tweak to snap the perfect picture. Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a new IP to come to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. In the story, Kena assists spirits in the world while traveling to the mountain shrine. Along the way, she will need to use her magical abilities to remove corruption from the forest and return it to normal. The game is incredibly colorful, featuring lush, green environments, and backgrounds that seem to go on for miles. It would make sense that players would want to stop during their adventure and take a few pictures.

Players can bring up Photo Mode in Kena: Bridge of Spirits by pressing the up button on the D-Pad. This will freeze the game for a moment, allowing players to set up Kena and her Rot friends. Players can choose how they wish to pose Kena and add filters. Players can also use the built-in capture software on the PlayStation console to capture and save moments instantly.

Players will first want to get used to the camera controls to capture the perfect photos of Kena's journey through the forest. All major face buttons on the PlayStation controller have a function while in Photo Mode that differs from their in-game functions. This is what each button can do.

The camera controls in Photo Mode in Kena: Bridge of Spirits appear below:

  • L1: This will freeze/unfreeze the characters on screen.
  • R1: This will take the picture. Players can find it in the media folder on their PlayStation.
  • L2 and R2: This will change how high the camera is on the frame.
  • Up and Down on D-Pad: This will focus on how zoomed-in players are.
  • Left and Right on D-Pad: This will control the focus of the camera.
  • R3: This will cause the camera to auto-focus.

Unlike traditional Photo Modes, which only capture what appears onscreen, Photo Mode in Kena: Bridge of Spirits is innovative. Players can place Kena in a variety of different poses. She can kneel down on the ground near her Rot friends, throw up a peace sign, sit, and more. It's important to mention that players can only move Kena once she is unfrozen with the L1 button.

There are also a variety of filter options, allowing players to turn pictures black and white, create sunset or film effects, and more. With all these tools available, players can capture their favorite in-game moments to save or share with friends.
