Scarlet Witch Vs. Sylvie, Who Would Win In A Battle? | ScreenRant

The Disney+ shows significantly altered the MCU's power rankings. Fans already knew Wanda Maximoff was one of the strongest Avengers, but her reveal as the Scarlet Witch took her to a whole other level. Meanwhile, Loki introduced Sylvie, a Loki variant and enchantress with numerous tricks down her sleeve and a nearly unbreakable will.

These two characters are clearly in the upper echelons of the MCU power ranks, so it's not the wisest idea to go against them. However, if they were to face each other in battle, who would win? And most importantly, would the multiverse resist the clash of these two titans?

10 Sylvie Would Win: She Has Far More Experience

Throughout her life, Sylvie has been around multiple universes, learning from all of them. She knows what she's doing and isn't afraid of doing it. She came up with a plan to bring down the TVA, one of the most powerful institutions in the Multiverse, and actually got away with it.

Sylvie is the personification of "street smarts." She's seen things most people would never even dream of, unlike Wanda, who's still somewhat inexperienced and remained sheltered by the Avengers' protection for a long time. An ancient Spanish proverb says, "the Devil knows more from being old than from being the devil," and Sylvie is the living proof.

9 Scarlet Witch Would Win: She Is Learning More About Her Craft

WandaVision ends with Wanda coming out of her shelf and claiming full ownership of her power. She also stops denying her nature and begins studying the Darkhold to learn more about herself and per powers.

Wanda no longer wants to hide from the truth. She knows she is something special and will use all her might to bring back her children from wherever it is they're trapped. Sure, she's still inexperienced but is on her way to acquiring vast knowledge, both theoretical and practical. One of the few things that hindered her was her ignorance about her power, but the series proved that Wanda is a fast learner.

8 Sylvie Would Win: She Isn't Afraid Of Getting Her Hands Dirty

For all her redeeming qualities, Sylvie is still a Loki variant, arguably the best, too. She's unreliable and, in her own words, cannot be trusted. Sylvie isn't afraid of getting her hands dirty if it means getting the job done. She'll get rid of anyone that stands in her way. True, that doesn't mean she'll kill them, but she will betray them because that's what Lokis do best.

Furthermore, Sylvie isn't afraid to dream big. When she reveals her plan to enchant Alioth, everyone else thinks she's reaching, but she stays confident. It's this drive, this uncontainable thirst for achieving her goal, that makes her such a formidable opponent in any battle.

7 Scarlet Witch Would Win: She Has The Avengers On Her Side

Sylvie and Wanda have several things in common. Their childhood innocence abruptly ended due to outside interferences, leaving them to fend for themselves. However, Wanda still had Pietro, unlike Sylvie, who was literally left alone.

Moreover, Wanda gained a second family when she joined the Avengers. Her family is currently fractured, but the Avengers have argued and separated before, eventually finding their way back to each other. If Wanda ever needed help, she'd know she could count on them, and not even Sylvie could take down the mighty Avengers.

6 Sylvie Would Win: She's Fought All Her Life

In order to survive, Sylvie had to toughen up and abandon her naiveté. She became a true warrior, someone who spends every day of her life running, avoiding others so that the TVA wouldn't find her. Sylvie survived, but she never really lived.

Her life made her cynical and untrusting, but above all, it prepared her for war. Sylvie is battle-hardened, a soldier in a perpetual conflict in which she's a one-woman army. She's used to strategizing, and she's always one step ahead of her enemies.

5 Scarlet Witch Would Win: She's (Apparently) Meant To Destroy The World

During her climactic fight against Agatha, Wanda learns some distressing news. Agatha claims that Wanda has an entire page devoted to her in Darkhold, the book of the Damned. Furthermore, Agatha reveals that Wanda's power is greater than the Sorcerer Supreme's and her destiny is to destroy the world.

With a description like that, only a fool would take on Wanda. The true extent of her powers remains unknown, but she did hold off Thanos with one hand while destroying an Infinity Stone with the other. So, why taste the fates?  Surely she can deal with whatever threat comes her way if her destiny really is to destroy the world.

4 Sylvie Would Win: She's More Ruthless

As previously stated, Sylvie is a Loki to the tee. She clearly loved the original Loki but didn't think twice about sending him to another universe to get him out of the way. Sylvie won't hesitate to betray and even kill if it means she'll win.

Meanwhile, Wanda has a clearer view of right and wrong, Sylvie's moral compass doesn't exactly point north. Ultimately, Wanda would try to fight honorably, while Sylvie wouldn't be above pulling a trick or two. She wouldn't necessarily cheat, but she certainly wouldn't play fair either.

3 Scarlet Witch Would Win: Her Power Can Be Overwhelming

On multiple occasions, Wanda wasn't in control of her powers. Indeed, her instability is a central part of her character in the comics and the MCU. There are numerous instances in the comics where her abilities are just too vast to handle, and some of her most memorable storylines have her losing control.

In the MCU, Wanda does seem to be learning to control her might. Still, the fact remains that she's one of, if not the most powerful character in the current MCU. How long before she loses control of her abilities? It could happen during a battle, and if Wanda were to unleash all her power, Sylvie would be doomed.

2 Sylvie Would Win: She Has Nothing Left To Lose

Throughout Loki, Sylvie learns to trust others, including Mobius and Loki, and forms deep and meaningful connections with them. Still, she believes she's better off on her own. The show ends with her back in square one; she won the battle but may have lost the war.

If she remains down this path, Sylvie would have nothing to lose. She'd go into every fight with a the-winner-takes-it-all attitude that would make her even more dangerous. She would fight for no one but herself and would leave everything she had on the battlefield.

1 Scarlet Witch Would Win: She Has Something To Fight For

On the other hand, Wanda now has plenty of reasons to stay alive and fight. Not only is there another Vision flying around, but more importantly, her children still exist, trapped somewhere in the multiverse. Wanda will appear in the upcoming Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, and her priority will surely be to rescue her children, whatever it takes.

Her motherly instincts make her an even more formidable foe. Wanda will fight every battle with a mother's courage, wanting to ensure her children's future. Enemies of the Scarlet Witch, beware.
