Star Trek: Lower Decks Tom Paris Plate is Now a Real Collectible

Tom Paris from Star Trek: Lower Decks is getting a collectible plate. The sci-fi franchise started with what is now known as Star Trek: The Original Series, which ran from 1966-1969. This original story is set in the 23rd century, where the starship USS Enterprise is deployed by the United Federation of Planets to discover new worlds and the life that exists there. The show's popularity led it to several spin-off series, a film franchise, merchandise, among other mediums of media.

In 2020, the first season of Star Trek: Lower Decks premiered with ten episodes on CBS All Access, which would later be rebranded as the streaming service Paramount+. Mike McMahan created the adult animated series, who also created Solar Opposites and has worked on Rick and Morty. The show tells the story of the support crew on one of the Starfleet's least crucial ships. The crew of characters encounter strange sci-fi situations together. The second season will have a total of ten episodes, which will be released on August 12.

Star Trek announced that Tom Paris from the USS Voyager will be featured on a collectible plate. The order comes with one plate with real gold gilding around the rim, which is eight inches in diameter, and a stand for the plate. While the price has not been released quite yet, pre-orders will be available on August 11. The item plate is exclusively available through Star Trek Unlimited for only 47 firing days. See below for a full image of the plate:

The trailer for season 2 of Star Trek: Lower Decks teased Tom appearing on a commemorative plate, which is the inspiration for this piece. This plate is meant to be a replica of that exact plate that has already been shown for the upcoming season along with a thumbs up from Tom himself. With the Voyager actor Robert Duncan McNeill voicing Tom in the trailer, this is a fun collectible for fans to get a hold of.

This plate is certainly intended to be for collecting purposes, given the fact that the plate has genuine gold around its rim and comes with a stand to display it. The animated image on the collectible appears to have a good amount of detail, as it looks like it's directly from the animated show. Since there's no price that has been confirmed as of yet, it could be difficult for some fans to commit to purchasing it, although those who do will have a cool "prop" plate to display in their home. Be sure to check back closer to the release date for more Star Trek: Lower Decks related content.
