The Real Housewives Of Orange County: 7 Best Relationships In The Franchise

After debuting in 2006, The Real Housewives of Orange County set the tone for the rest of the franchise. As the longest-running city in the Housewives realm, fans have seen its fair share of memorable Housewives and their significant others. But as is the case with many Housewives, some great couples still file for divorce and start fresh the following season.

Vicki and Don Gunvalson, for example, had amazing banter throughout the series and really seemed to understand each other, but they couldn't make it work. However, not every couple ends in flames on RHOC. Some are rooted for and have some of the best scenes that fans love watching over and over.

7 Heather & Terry Dubrow

Terry and Heather Dubrow are a force to be reckoned with. They've been married since '99 and have four kids together. They've created an empire with each other, with Heather being an actress and Terry being a prominent plastic surgeon. Most of Heather's iconic scenes are when she has the support of her husband while in an argument with a friend.

What makes this couple so great is their dedication to their family. No matter how busy the two are, their children and their relationship are a priority.

6 Tamra & Eddie Judge

After joining the series in season 3, Tamra Judge was introduced as Tamra Barney. She was married to her then-husband, Simon, and showcased the troubles in their relationship. Tamra was miserable and wanted to start fresh without Simon.

She eventually divorced Simon and was surprised when she met someone else so quickly — Eddie Judge. No matter how many fans change their opinions on Tamra or her behavior, they can't deny that Tamra and Eddie are a perfect match. Eddie calms Tamra down and brings her back to center, while she adds a pep to his step. Their wedding on Bravo was one of their best episodes together.

5 Lauri & George Peterson

Lauri Peterson was an original Housewife who was on a mission to settle down. She had three children that were shown regularly on the show but this single mom wanted to find her Prince Charming. She eventually met George and the two fell head of heels.

George treated Lauri and her children like he's known them his entire life. Likewise, Lauri was very comfortable with Geroge and the two became a team. It was their nuptials that was the first Housewives wedding ever shown. Now that Lauri is no longer on the show, she and George are still going strong and are raising her granddaughter Kennedy as their own due to her son's legal troubles.

4 Lydia & Doug McLaughlin

Lydia McLaughlin had the unique privilege to be on RHOC two separate times. After appearing for the first time in season 8, she took a break and came back for a final hoorah in season 12. As sweet as Lydia was, she's not the highest-ranking past Housewife because she didn't add the drama that fans are accustomed to.

Nevertheless, her relationship with her husband Doug was endearing. The two were incredibly religious and had that at the forefront of their marriage. Before anything else, the two valued each other and their three kids above the RHOC hype, which is commendable but not always great TV.

3 Vicki Gunvalson & Steve Lodge

As an original Housewife who lasted 14 seasons, no other Housewife in the OC will be able to top everything she's accomplished for herself and the show. Over the years, fans have seen her marriage to Don Gunvalson fall apart and try to pick up the pieces with a man named Brooks Ayers. That relationship is one that Vicki will never live down because he turned out to be a con-man who, according to Bravo and People, lied about having cancer.

Vicki seems to have finally met her match with Steve Lodge though. Lodge is a veteran and former retired homicide detective. His sense of pride and stability is what Vicki always needed. She finally found someone who was able to ground her and find a life outside of the show.

2 Gina Kirschenheiter & Travis Mullen

Like many others, when Gina Kirschenheiter joined RHOC, she was a married, stay-at-home mom. But by the time season 13 ended, Gina was going to marital woes. As it turned out, Gina was in an abusive relationship and filed for divorce.

Fans watched her find her sense of peace on the show after her marriage ended and she found love with Travis Mullen. They debuted on the show in season 15 and seem to be loving their time together. What makes these two so great is their youthful spirit and how much fun they're having together.

1 Shannon Beador & John Janssen

One of Shannon's longest-running storylines was the downfall of her marriage to David Beador. The two tried to get through his past affair but it was best to part ways. After having time to herself and focusing on her children, Shannon eventually found love again with John Janssen.

The couple was especially honest with their highs and lows during the COVID-19 pandemic and how quarantine affected their relationship. Through the mud, the two came out stronger and fans love seeing Shannon so happy.
