Big Brother: Whitney Expresses Anger Toward Derek X. Following Eviction

Big Brother 23's Whitney Williams is expressing her anger towards Derek Xiao following her eviction. Whitney was nominated for eviction by former Head-of-Household Christian Birkenberger. She sat alongside fellow teammate Hannah Chaddha. Whitney was ultimately evicted with an unanimous 10-0 vote during last night's live eviction.

On night one inside the house, Whitney was one of four houseguests that won the title of team captain. She chose Derek X., Hannah and Brent Champagne to be her teammates. Unfortunately for the team, they lost a member last week when Brent was evicted. Then, one week later, both Whitney and Hannah were nominated for eviction. As Whitney walked out the door so did the teams twist. The remaining houseguests are officially competing solely for themselves.

Now, the day after her eviction, Whitney is expressing her anger towards her former teammate. The anger has been building up for a few days now. It started when Whitney overheard a conversation between Derek and Hannah in which Derek implied that Hannah would still be in the house next week and not Whitney. While this was no surprise to viewers since Hannah has a crush on Derek, Whitney was left in shock by the remark. In an interview with EW, Whitney was asked about the incident. She admitted, "Oh, I was pissed." Since she has not seen any episodes of the season yet, Whitney was not sure if viewers had seen her interaction with Derek in the kitchen following the incident. Whitney said, "I just told him that it was bull crap and not to talk to me."

It was in this moment that Whitney questioned her entire game. Derek's remark made it clear to Whitney that he was not actually on her side despite being her teammate. She said, "So obviously you're working against me and I'm going to work against you." Had Whitney survived eviction and lasted another week in the house, Derek would have been her next target. She had this plan without even knowing the teams twist would be coming to an end. In fact, prior to being evicted, Whitney attempted to convince Christian to use the Power of Veto to backdoor Derek; however, her plan obviously did not work. Whitney was ultimately quite upset about the entire situation. She said, "It was pretty upsetting. It was one of the people that I trusted."

After Whitney was evicted Thursday night, Julie Chen Moonves revealed to the remaining houseguests that the teams twist was officially over. The houseguests then competed in the first endurance competition of the summer. While the results of the competition was not seen on the live Big Brother episode, live-feed viewers watched Derek X. win his first Head-of-Household reign of the summer.
