Shang-Chi BTS Video Shows Hilariously Oversized Abomination Leg Prop

A new behind-the-scenes video posted by Destin Daniel Cretton, director of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, shows off a hilariously large Abomination leg prop. The most recent film from Marvel Studios has made a massive statement in theaters, continuing to be very successful at the box office, and garnering high praise from critics and audiences. Shang-Chi is the 25th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to release so far and the second this year, with two more planned for the rest of this year. Marvel Studios has more films and Disney+ shows coming this year, and a lot more on the slate for years to come.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings follows the character of Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), who is trying to hide from his previous life of being the son of Wenwu (Tony Leung), the leader of the Ten Rings organization that has terrorized the world for many years. At one point, Shang-Chi ends up in a secret fight club ring, where he sees Abomination (Tim Roth) fighting Wong (Benedict Wong). Until that point, Abomination had not been seen since The Incredible Hulk in 2008. Shang-Chi also stars Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Meng'er Zhang, and Florian Munteanu.

Seeing Abomination's leg is hilarious, as fans are used to seeing the finished product of a CGI character and not just as a reference for the CGI artists who bring these characters to life. Cretton's video not only shares a funny look at Abomination's leg, but also a glimpse at the fighting ring set. With the caption "Can't believe this is my job," Cretton shows how crazy it must be to make a Marvel Studios movie. He had previously made smaller-budgeted films, so going from those to a massive budget, large-scale MCU movie must have been a crazy experience.

The video shared by Cretton is another great look behind the scenes for MCU fans who enjoy seeing how these monumental movies get made. It is especially interesting to see how Abomination went from being green-screen props to being a well-made Marvel CGI creature. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is currently playing in theaters, where fans can see what Abomination actually looks like.
