Animal Crossing: New Horizons has many new things coming in October 2021, including DIY recipes, events, and new critters to catch. Everything begins Oct. 1, and the events continue to drop in several times throughout the month. The Halloween event is one of the most exciting seasonal features of Animal Crossing, and Jack will be back on the island with his crew once again.
Other changes to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in October include the decorations outside of Nook's Cranny and the Able Sisters' inventory. October will see a number of Halloween-themed cosmetics come to Animal Crossing, including costumes, individual clothing pieces, and even Halloween-themed skin tones. Use mirrors to customize any character's appearance after purchasing the items. Their inventory will be stocked with something new every day, so be sure to check them out.
Kicking off the October update is an island-wide announcement from Isabelle stating that pumpkins can now be grown throughout the island. Pumpkins are used in every October DIY recipe in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and the starter kits can be purchased at Nook's Cranny. Candy is the seasonal currency this October, and it can either be purchased in a limited amount for 120 Bells at Nook's Cranny or received as a gift from Villagers.
Every day, one Villager will be crafting an October DIY recipe. Speak with them to learn the recipe from them, and they'll give candy if that recipe has already been earned. Build up as much candy as possible before Jack comes to Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Oct. 31. Give candy to Jack in exchange for additional DIY recipes.
