Following Lindsie's announcement that she and her husband, Will, are splitting up, and the Chrisley Knows Best patriarch's cryptic Instagram post, Todd Chrisley is finally speaking out about what his daughter his going through. Lindsie took to Instagram on Tuesday to share the unfortunate news that she and Will are getting a divorce. They have been married for nine years and have a son named Jackson. This isn't the first time that the couple has gone through major struggles. They separated in 2014 and 2016 but eventually reunited.
One day after Lindsie made her announcement, Todd took to Instagram to post two cryptic messages. The first said, "You don't have to rebuild a relationship with everyone you've forgiven. Just because you are at peace, doesn't mean they're not still toxic." Then the second post was more personal and elaborate, with the Chrisley Knows Best star directing his words at someone in particular without actually saying their name, even though it was obvious to fans that he was referring to Lindsie. At one point, he said, "There is nothing you can do or have done that will make me ever love you less."
Now Chrisley Knows Best's Todd is speaking out about Lindsie's divorce announcement. During the most recent episode of his podcast, Chrisley Confessions, he prefaced the discussion with a disclaimer, saying, "I'm going to put it in my own words so therefore it cannot be twisted or contorted. I want to be very clear that it was a very sad day, that this is the news that I went to bed with last night and that I prayed about and that I woke up again with this morning with these press requests." Todd revealed that he wasn't aware of the separation until this week and he didn't know that "they weren't living in the same house, living separate lives. I didn't know anything about any of this."
Since Lindsie doesn't have a close relationship with her father, which means her son is also cut off from the Chrisley family, Todd noted he's grateful that Jackson does have a relationship with his other grandparents. "I hope that [relationship] will continue because I want Jackson to have as little disruption as possible," he said. But when it comes to the strain between Todd and his eldest daughter, the Chrisley Knows Best star admitted it's better that communication between the two of them remains minimal-to-nonexistent since, as he put it, there "can't be fighting when there is no communication." Despite all the drama, he prays for "all of my children every day" and "will continue to do so."
It's an unfortunate situation all around, especially since there is a young child involved. In an ideal environment, Lindsie and Jackson would be just as involved in Todd's life as her half-siblings Chase, Savannah and Grayson are. Clearly, Todd feels that it's not possible since it would likely create even more drama in their lives, and Lindsie seems adamant about not being a part of their lives.
Plus, it's not just Todd that she would have to reconcile with. She now has a nonexistent relationship with her half-siblings. At one point, Lindsie claimed that Todd and Chace were attempting to extort her over a sex tape. Lindsie and Savannah are at odds with each other as well, with the latter attacking the mother-of-one over the accusations. All of this extends to Todd's wife as well, with Julie saying earlier this year that they don't communicate with her.
