Everything Aliens: Fireteam Elite Deluxe Edition Includes

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is an upcoming third-person survival shooter that puts up to three players in the boots of battle-hardened Colonial Marines. They'll face off against over 20 different enemy types in wave-based battles. Players will need to work together to "survive the hive" and make it through the terrifying action.

On top of the diverse enemy types, players will have access to five different classes with their own selections of abilities and perks, plus more than 30 weapons with several different mods and attachments that let them add some custom flair to their gear. If that's not enough, however, even more customization in Aliens: Fireteam Elite can be had with the Deluxe Edition of the game.

The Aliens: Fireteam Elite Deluxe Edition includes several items that might interest players who are already planning to dive into the game with a group of friends. They'll get access to both the Endeavor Pass and the Endeavor Veteran Pack. Both passes will offer several new options for dressing up their characters.

The Endeavor Veteran Pack is mostly cosmetic, though there are a few gameplay items. The Heirloom Standoff Shotgun as well as nine Challenge Cards are provided, and the pack also comes with two armor skins for each class (for a total of 10) and new helmet and cap options that can be used across the classes. There are also four new weapon colors - chrome-plated, digital urban, desert, and blue camo - and a caution stripe weapon decal. Finally, players can use two exclusive emotes that inject a little extra life into Aliens: Fireteam Elite's gameplay.

Currently, the team at Cold Iron Studios isn't providing full details for the Endeavor Pass, but they have said that it will include four "DLC bundles" full of even more cosmetic options. On top of all of this, players can pick up a handful of extra cosmetics by pre-ordering either edition of the game, including a new head accessory, red digital camo weapon colors, three weapon decals, and an emote. In a smart move, both the Endeavor Veteran Pack and Endeavor Pass are available separately, which means anyone who wants to hold off before purchasing can wait to pick either of them up later.

While players may want to see more substantial content for the extra $10 to get the Aliens: Fireteam Elite Deluxe Edition, it's easy to see why Cold Iron is going the cosmetics route. If they hope to keep a multiplayer community engaged for the long haul, they probably don't want to split the player base with extra content. Instead, gameplay updates need to be available for everyone, with cosmetics being an option for those that really dive deep into the game.
