PlayStation Store Remasters & Retro Games Sale Is Full Of Bargains

A new sale on the PlayStation Store boasts an impressive number of deals for remastered titles, remakes, and retro games; the deals are currently live and will come to an end in two weeks on February 11. PlayStation Store sales have been especially noteworthy of late, offering discounts that are generally difficult to ignore. The most recent of such PS Store sales ended earlier this month, having gone live in December for the holidays.

Sony's PlayStation-dedicated storefront isn't the only digital marketplace emptying the pockets of players. Steam and the Epic Games Store arguably still offer the best deals, while GOG manages to keep pace in its own right. However, Epic Games Store seems as though it resides in a league of its own, considering the number of giveaways in recent memory. Every day for a week during the holidays, for example, Epic gave away a free game. Earlier in the month, Star Wars Battle II was offered up as a freebie on the storefront, a deal that 19 million players quickly took advantage of.

PlayStation owners will also want to take advantage of the latest PlayStation Store sale, which discounts a host of remasters and classic games. From now until February 11, players can grab titles such as Devil May Cry HD Collection and MediEvil for $14.99 apiece. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and Assassin's Creed III: Remastered are all priced at $15.99. Far Cry 3 Classic Edition, God of War 3 RemasteredBatman: Return to Arkham, and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection each bear a $9.99 price tag. Meanwhile, Rockstar classics like Bully, Manhunt, and GTA: Vice City are all marked down to $8.99. And for a little over $7.00 apiece, fans can get their hands on PlayStation classics such as PaRappa The Rapper Remastered, Jak II, Jak 3, and Patapon Remastered.

Deals like this are a great way to introduce audiences to beloved experiences they may have previously missed out on. And, hopefully, the data gathered from these sales encourage publishers to revisit dormant franchises. Who doesn't want a new Spyro installment, for example?

This sale and the upcoming PlayStation Plus freebies will keep PS4 and PS5 players busy for quite a long while. Next month's PS Plus offerings will give subscribers access to Concrete Genie, Destruction AllStars, and Control: Ultimate Edition, a lineup that some seem to believe counts as the service's best batch of titles yet.
