Wizards, the final chapter of Guillermo del Toro's Tales of Arcadia trilogy, is set to debut on Netflix on August 7. The computer-animated sci-fi/fantasy series began in 2016 with Trollhunters, which told the story of the first human Trollhunter, a boy named James Lake Jr. Trollhunters ended after three seasons. A few months later, 3Below: Tales of Arcadia was released, following two alien siblings who crash-land in the city of Arcadia Oaks (the same setting as Trollhunters) and must acclimate to human culture while trying to repair their ship.
The series will conclude with Wizards, the final chapter that brings together three distinctly separate worlds of trolls, aliens, and wizards. Viewers will meet a young wizard named Douxie, as he teams up with the heroes of Arcadia for a time-bending trip to medieval Camelot. The series culminates in a world-shattering battle between good and evil for control of magic and to settle the fate of these merging supernatural worlds.
Most of the cast from Trollhunters and 3Below are returning for the final installment, including Colin O'Donoghue as Merlin’s apprentice Douxie, Emile Hirsch, Lexi Medrano, Charlie Saxton, Steven Yeun, David Bradley, Lena Headey, Clancy Brown, Diego Luna, Mark Hamill, and Kelsey Grammer. They're joined by Alfred Molina, Stephanie Beatriz, James Faulkner, and John Rhys Davies.
Created and executive produced by del Toro, Wizards is also executive produced by Marc Guggenheim and Chad Hammes. Chad Quandt and Aaron Waltke serve as co-executive producers. Trollhunters won an Emmy for Outstanding Directing for del Toro and Rodrigo Blaas. Wizards premiers on August 7.
