Selling Sunset: Emma Reveals Cast Members Warned Her About Online Critics

As one of the newest agents to appear on Netflix's Selling Sunset, Emma Hernan has revealed the cautionary tales she's heard about social media harassment targeted at her fellow co-stars. As the office dynamics begin to shift on the series, the cast has warmly welcomed a number of new faces to the show, including both Emma and Vanessa Villela. Surprisingly well-received by Christine Quinn, The Oppenheim Group's harshest member, the cast has welcomed change and new beginnings for the iconic real estate agency. Continuing into its 4th season, Selling Sunset guarantees plenty of fresh faces, continued arguments, and further exploration of Los Angeles' most extravagant homes.

Notoriously toxic, yet enjoyable for many Netflix subscribers, Selling Sunset has continued to be a guilty pleasure series. Fans have enjoyed the most emotional moments from the show but have also been shocked by the concerning level of abusive behavior within the office. As the stars of the series have commented on both new and long-lasting conflict at the office, specifically the continued office tension fueled by Christine, audiences can expect an increasing level of dramatic moments. Yet with Emma and Venessa joining the cast, there is hope for a renewed level of respect within the office and an opportunity for reconciliation amongst the agents, both old and new.

In a conversation with PEOPLE, Emma shared about the many "warn[ings]" she received from the Selling Sunset cast about the harmful online bullying surrounding the series. Candidly, Emma explained that she is "a little nervous" about joining the series, but she has expressed that she "feels ready to handle" the brutality that comes with reality television. As she begins her journey on the show, one of the biggest concerns for Emma appears to be the damage inflicted by "social media bullies." While Davina Potratz has faced online harassment, the other co-stars have shared their worries about the increase in bullying virtually. With the support of her fellow cast members, Emma explained that "she's more excited than nervous for the new season of the show to air."

Despite the inevitability of fans becoming overly invested in the series and resorting to cruel comments online, Emma still has hope in both her co-stars and her future on the series. While the show has often garnered a negative reputation, Emma explains how she hopes to use her presence on the series to be a role model and to "inspire" fans of the series. As the cast teases the release of Selling Sunset season 4, Emma adds to the hype surrounding the return of the show, calling season 4 "one of the juiciest ones yet." Already full of a number of shocking moments, season 4 appears to push boundaries, as well as recenter the series on the strong relationships formed at The Oppenheim Group.

With excitement from the cast, fans are certain to be anticipating the "juic[y]" details Emma teases about in her interview, whether they be about the new cast or the continued anger involving Christine. Full of hope and fresh starts, The Oppenheim Group appears dedicated to unifying its staff and expanding on its famous real estate agency. With an often intense collection of agents, Emma's debut on Selling Sunset appears to be a well-needed change to the office. Without a specified release date, audiences continue to wait for their invitations back into the messy, often hilarious happenings at The Oppenheim Group on season 4 of Selling Sunset.
