Pokémon GO: How To Find (& Catch) Zarude | Screen Rant

Players are finally able to find and capture their own Zarude in Pokemon Go. This is the newest Mythical Pokemon to join the Pokemon mythos, and originally made its debut back in Pokemon Sword and Shield. This Dark/Grass-type Pokemon has only been available in that title as part of global special events. Players have only been able to obtain one if they were lucky enough to claim it during this event. This time around, players are able to find it in Pokemon Go by completing a new Special Research task that has been introduced.

The 'Search for Zarude' Special Research has been added to Pokemon Go to celebrate the release of the upcoming Pokemon film to NetflixPokemon Go always features in-game events that tie into other Pokemon-related properties like the mainline series or anime. Upon completing this event, players will have the chance to capture their own Zarude. This Special Research can be completed at any time but players will need to log into the game before October 10th in order to unlock it. Anytime after will have this Special Research locked away until a new event comes in the future.

Search for Zarude is broken up into 5 different stages. In order to collect Zarude, players will need to make it to the final stage. These are all the tasks (& rewards) players can earn for completing these Special Research tasks.

  • Stage 1/5: Catch 7 different species of Pokémon - 1 Sun Stone, Catch 7 Pokémon - Diglett encounter, Take 3 snapshots of wild Ground-type Pokémon - 15 Poké Balls. Rewards: 250 Stardust, 10 Nanab Berries, and a Drilbur encounter.
  • Stage 2/5: Make 5 Great Throws in a row - Pinap Berries, Catch 10 Bug-type Pokémon - Dwebble encounter, Take 3 snapshots of wild Bug-type Pokémon - 10 Great Balls. Rewards: 250 Stardust, 10 Razz Berries, and a Combee encounter.
  • Stage 3/5: Use 20 Berries to help catch Pokémon - Sunny Cherrim encounter, Catch 30 Grass or Bug-type Pokémon - Vileplume encounter, Take 3 snapshots of wild Grass-type Pokémon - 10 Great Balls. Rewards: 500 Stardust, 10 Pinap Berries, and a Nuzleaf encounter.

  • Stage 5/5: Claim Rewards: 3000 XP, 1000 Stardust, 10 Zarude candy, and a Zarude encounter.

This Pokemon will likely return to the game in the future if players miss out on claiming this Special Research. It's common for legendary Pokemon to make their way to Raid Battles after their initial debut. Since this is a Mythical Pokemon, Pokemon Go might have a different way of distribution in the future.
