Owen Wilson Gives Richard E. Grant Acting Advice In Funny Loki BTS Video

Warning: SPOILERS lie ahead for Loki episode 5, "Journey Into Mystery"

Richard E. Grant shares a new video from behind the scenes of Disney+'s Loki seeing co-star Owen Wilson giving him hilarious acting advice. The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe series hails from Rick and Morty alum and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness scribe Michael Waldron. The show features the return of Tom Hiddleston as the titular god of mischief alongside Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Sasha Lane, and Grant.

The series is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame as the 2012 iteration of Loki escapes with the Tesseract during the film's Time Heist and is subsequently arrested by the Time Variance Authority. Before he can be eliminated, he's offered the opportunity to hunt down a variant killing off TVA agents, only to discover a web of dark secrets at the mysterious agency. Looking to right his wrongs and forge a new path for himself in spite of the Sacred Timeline, Loki journeys through time to find the answers to the shady Time Keepers.

After a brief tease in the post-credits of episode 4, this week's Loki saw Grant properly get his time in the light as Classic Loki, a variant who faked his death to escape being killed by Thanos. To celebrate his MCU debut, the Oscar-nominated actor took to Twitter to share a video from behind the scenes of the series in which Wilson shares hilarious acting advice for his co-star. Given Grant's complete breakdown of laughter in the final seconds of the video, it's clear the duo planned the skit out prior to filming or that Wilson used his improv skills to make the Oscar nominee break. But that doesn't make the moment any less funny for fans of the series, especially given Grant's character is mostly a humorless and downtrodden iteration of the titular god of mischief in comparison to Wilson's charming and upbeat Mobius. It's also a nice treat for fans to see the fun on the set expanded to include more than just the lead stars but also those only appearing in a handful of episodes.

Unfortunately, this fun is coming to a close in the near future, namely for Grant's Classic Loki following his moving sacrifice in this week's episode. With only one episode remaining and plenty of questions still needing answers from Loki, the funny video from Grant and Wilson should prove to be a nice diversion to satiate the wait. For now, fans can catch up on the series as the first five episodes are currently available to stream on Disney+.
