DWTS: Chris Harrison Hasn't Said No To Competing According To Insider

Chris Harrison was approached to compete on Dancing With The Stars, and he has not turned the offer down. While Chris has been going through a pretty rough time lately after the racism controversy that occurred with one of The Bachelorette contestants and ending his career as the long-time host of The Bachelor, appearing on DWTS may be a great way to redeem himself in the eyes of viewers.

As most people know by now, Chris and ABC parted ways recently, which ended his long-time gig as host of The Bachelor franchise. Since that happened, rumors have circulated that Chris is considering creating his own reality dating show that would compete against the franchise he left and blow it out of the water. While fans anticipate a potential show from Chris, they are eager to know if he will make an appearance on television in the meantime.

Word on the street is that Chris was approached by Dancing With The Stars to compete on the show and potentially redeem himself from the negative press he has had lately. Sources told Radar that Chris initially thought he was being asked to host the show, so his ego was bruised a bit when he realized he was just being asked to dance. According to these sources, while Chris did not agree and say yes right away, he also did not turn the offer down, so it is still up in the air. Insiders told Radar, “Chris wanted to return to TV hosting a show on another channel but so far, the offers haven’t exactly been flooding in.”

The fact that hosting offers have not been coming his way since Chris left The Bachelor may be why he is considering this gig on Dancing With The Stars. Sources think this opportunity would give him the chance to remind viewers why they fell in love with the host to begin with and patch up his reputation after the racism controversy with Rachael Kirkconnell. Insiders told Radar that Tyra Banks, current host of the show, is looking to find someone as controversial as Carole Baskin from Tiger Kingwho appeared on DWTS season 29.

While it is hard to say if Chris is going to accept the offer to dance his way back into the good graces of viewers who are not too happy with him right now, it would definitely make for an interesting Dancing With The Stars season 30. Fans will just have to wait and see if the former host decides to take a leap of faith and compete on the show.
