The series will be produced by Berlanti Productions in conjunction with Vita Vera Films.

Reported by Deadline, it looks like the reboot won’t entirely reinvent the wheel after the announcement that Tom Kenny will play his role of the Narrator once again. Kenny, who is best known as the voice of the iconic cartoon character, Spongebob Squarepants, voiced the Narrator and other small parts in both the original 1998 cartoon and its 2016 animated revival. Additionally, it was announced that Robyn Lively, of Teen Witch and Twin Peaks fame, will be portraying Sara Bellum, who in the original cartoon was the Mayor’s secretary who remained faceless due to her tall stature always leaving her out of frame.

Powerpuff will star Chloe Bennet as Blossom, Dove Cameron as Bubbles, and Yana Perrault as Buttercup.Donald Faison and Nicholas Podany will also star in the upcoming series. What were tiny but mighty kid superheroes in the original, are now young adults who resent dedicating their entire childhood to fighting crime instead of doing what normal kids do. As their crime fighting future hangs in the balance, they have a lot to decide.
