New York City police say a woman believed to have been kidnapped in the city's Brooklyn borough has been found safe – and that the incident was a misunderstanding.
Police previously said a female was kidnapped by an unknown male suspect at the intersection of Avenue W and Stillwell Avenue around 1:45 a.m. Friday, releasing photos in the search for the two individuals.
"The male and female depicted in the video were both found," the NYPD later told Fox News on Monday. "This incident was investigated by the NYPD Major Case Squad. Both parties were known to each other and it was deemed to have not been a crime."

The incident followed a recent case where a New York City woman late last month was abducted, beaten, and raped inside a bus in Staten Island.
The suspect in that case, 30-year-old Alexander Isaac, is facing several charges, including kidnapping, rape, assault, unlawful imprisonment, and criminal possession of a weapon.
