A Perth man has claimed he was halfway through a tin of peaches when he made the unsavoury discovery of what appeared to be the plunger from a syringe.
The man had purchased the tin from a Coles outlet, and had consumed half before he discovered the long white stick, conceivably the plunger from a syringe.
He had purchased the tin a week earlier.

He said he had even eaten some of the fruit unaware.
In a statement to Nine News, Coles apologised and called it an isolated incident, suggesting the syringe may be a piece of factory equipment.
The man is considering getting a blood test.
