A Ukrainian court sentenced a Russian tank commander to life in prison on May 23, in the first war crimes trial since the country’s invasion by Russia. Russia soldier Vadim Shishimarin was convicted of killing 62-year-old Oleksandr Shelipov in the village of Chupakhivka in Ukraine’s Sumy Oblast on February 28.
