New York Mayor Appeals for Information After Subway Shooting

New York Mayor Eric Adams appealed for the public to come forward with information as police searched for a suspect who opened fire in the subway in Brooklyn on April 12. The suspect released a smoke bomb in an N train subway car and opened fire, police said. At least 16 people were injured, including 10 people who suffered gunshot wounds, the FDNY said. Five people were in critical condition but none had suffered life-threatening injuries, the fire department said. Adams released a video statement from Gracie Mansion, where he was in quarantine after receiving a positive COVID test. “We will not allow New Yorkers to be terrorized, even by a single individual,” Adams said. “The NYPD is searching for the suspect-at-large and we will find them. But we ask the public to come forward with any information that may help us in this investigation.” Credit: Mayor Eric Adams via Storyful
