WELCOME BACK! First WA arrivals to get travel vouchers

To mark the opening of the WA border to international travellers on Thursday, Tourism WA will provide 3,400 of the “Gifts From Western Australia” — two-person vouchers, worth from $150 to $2,200 for a three-day tour of Margaret River.The campaign will encourage visitors to support local tourism operators during their trip to WA.Some of the attractions are swimming with dolphins, skydiving at Rottnest Island and trips to the Pinnacles.Tourism WA is also delivering 200 toy quokkas to Qantas to be distributed on the first flights from Sydney and Melbourne, promoting Rottnest Island and ‘The World’s Happiest Animal’ to WA arrivals.WA’s border re-opening will allow for quarantine-free travel from all vaccinated interstate and overseas tourists from 12.01am March 3.Premier Mark McGowan said the State Government wanted to encourage visitors to “experience all we can offer” and make sure the benefits were enjoyed by local tourism operators.Tourism Minister Roger Cook said not only would the vouchers be a perk for travellers, they’d also advertise some of WA’s tourism operators/.“Western Australia is a place like no other, and these vouchers will encourage the first arrivals to explore the stunning coastlines, famous food and wine, unique art and culture, and ancient Aboriginal history,” he said.“The vouchers, through Tourism WA, will also support and promote various tourism operators in Perth and the surrounding regions to thousands of incoming visitors.”
