The focus has to ‘return to resilience’ now that the ‘worst of the floods’ is over

Sky News host Chris Smith says now that the “worst of the floods is over,” the focus has to return to “resilience” and making sure every effort is made to prevent the extent of the disasters we have seen from happening again. Mr Smith discussed future flood mitigation strategies with Liberal Candidate for Macquarie Sarah Richards. “This was our third flood in three years … each flood over those last three years has increased in size,” Ms Richards said. “I am on the record for the last five and a half years as a Hawkesbury councillor supporting the raising of the Warragamba Dam wall as part of a suite of mitigation factors to protect our community.”
