Popular Cairns bubble tea opens up second store

The second Sweet Tea store is located in the Cairns Night Markets. Owner Jerry Chen said the new store will have some different options to the original shop. “There will be more variety and more options for the customers,” Mr Chen said. “Something different, we have more drinks and more fresh juices and more fruit teas.” The shop is known for its traditional flavours but they like to put a spin on some of their drinks. “We have products that we’ve created ourselves and many locals like it, like coconut with mango pudding and diced coconuts,” he said. Mr Chen has owned his Sweet Tea shop in Orchid Plaza for five years. He also had another store in the CBD along the Esplanade but it shut at the beginning of the pandemic. “When Covid-19 came in and tourists stopped coming, we had to shut down,” he said. But Mr Chen felt it was the perfect time to open another store as domestic and international borders had opened. “I felt tourists were coming back,” he said. Locals have also been excited to hear of the new shop.Gemma Lee from Cairns North said she had been going to Mr Chen’s shop for four years. “It’s good to hear of their new store, especially in the night markets, because there is lots of people,” she said. “The customer service is always really good and the tea is always great, too.“I’ve been coming here for many years now.”Cairns Post where to get news
