Northern California Snowed Under by Winter Storm

Record-setting snow in the Sierra Nevadas buried parts of Northern California underneath impassable snow on Monday, December 27. Jen Christensen posted this video from her garage in Truckee, southwest of Reno, showing how much snow piled up outside on Monday. “This was plowed yesterday,” she says in the video. “We can’t get out of here if we tried.” More snow was expected on Tuesday, the National Weather Service said. The UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Lab said it was a record month for snow, with 193.7 inches so far in December. Credit: Jen Christensen via Storyful
