Erika Jayne from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has reportedly missed a deadline to voluntarily give back the $25 million owed to victims. The "Pretty Mess" singer has been at the center of attention during the current season since every week there seems to be more information revealed. While the victims of Lion Air Flight 610 are suffering, it looks like Erika is still living a cushy life, and this has not been sitting well with the trustees.
Tom Girardi has been accused of embezzling funds from the widows and orphans of Lion Air Flight 610. Along with those claims, he and Erika have been sued for $25 million by the trustee handling the Girardi Keese bankruptcy case. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was sued for allegedly being aware that her husband's firm had been paying for her expenses for the last 12 years. Court documents have revealed that Erika and two of her businesses were given jewelry and other luxury items, which were purchased with the embezzled funds.
Ronald Richards, the trustee that was appointed to investigate Erika's funds, took to Twitter to share that Erika has missed a very important deadline. He wrote that his offer to waive their fees for the voluntary return of the stolen funds had now expired. Ronald kindly offered to waive the large legal fee if The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star agreed to give back the money within 10 days. As Bravo fans have figured out, she has not. Check out the post below:
Ronald also tweeted that RHOBH star Erika falsely "contended" that he and his firm were only interested in the fees but shared that he actually offered to add 10% to any voluntary return, saying if Erika was really interested in helping out the victims, she would pay back some of the money. Ronald also alleged that the money was improperly deducted by Erika on her LLC and personal tax returns. The lawyer made it clear the case was never about the fees but rather about the victims who have been suffering.
According to documents that recently revealed Erika's financial records, she spent $14 million on an American Express card between 2008 and 2020. One large purchase was for her well-known glam squad, while other funds were spent on time in the studio. Erika has kept quiet about her legal issues but is supposedly ready to open up during the recently filmed reunion special. Even though the deadline has passed, Bravo fans hope that Erika will soon be able to share her truth and clear up any misconceptions.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Wednesdays at 8pm on Bravo.
