Brittany Whitmire from Naked And Afraid Of Love took a chance to try and find her soulmate while wearing nothing but her heart on her sleeve, and it's time to share information about the reality celeb. Being on a show that fully exposes a person, literally, allowed her to step out of her comfort zone. When she did so, she learned so much about herself, including how to survive in such an interesting situation.
Naked And Afraid Of Love is the love child of Bachelor In Paradise and Survivor. Eight men and women are put on a deserted island, where they must remain completely nude. These cast members adapt in order to survive. Hopefully, they find love along the way, but this proves more challenging than enjoyable once discomfort and hunger set in. While love takes a backseat to the need to survive, bonds are still formed.
Brittany was cast in the new reality dating series after a friend tagged her in a Facebook post linked to the show. During the casting process, the North Carolina native was unaware that wearing clothes was not an option. In an interview with ET Online, she said, "At the time, it was not communicated, the naked and afraid part..." The casting team talked to her about her comfort level in terms of nudity, and she said that she was fairly comfortable with it. Still, the premise of the show came as a surprise.
Brittany, who currently lives in Los Angeles, is someone who maintains a healthy and active lifestyle. She enjoys going on hikes and spending time at beaches when she isn't doing modeling work part-time. She has an Irish doodle, Charlie, whom she left with her family while she was away filming the show. She announced her participation in the Survivor-inspired reality show online on August 10, 2021.
She got candid about her experiences on the Discovery+ show prior to its release. She explained that she'd had reservations about the survival aspect of the show to E! News Daily Pop. She said, "I had a lot of questions regarding the survival aspect of it...I do not deem myself a survivalist. Like, I enjoy the outdoors, I go hiking, I go camping, I do that stuff, but I have my water, I have my supplies. So I was like, 'Either you guys are teaching me some things or I'm going to die out there.'"
As for being naked while also hoping to find love on the new Discovery+ show, she added, "I think my biggest hesitation was just regarding how would other people view me and would this impact my career? She also explained that she had concerns about whether appearing on the show would negatively impact her career as an HR professional. Additionally, Brittany said that she's no stranger to body issues, which were definitely on her mind while filming the reality series. Fortunately for Brittany, the Naked And Afraid Of Love contestants gave each other some space when they were first dropped off on the island.
