For many Deathloop players, the biggest question to answer in the game will be what to do once its thrilling and winding storyline comes to an end. Like many action-adventure titles with strong narratives, Arkane Studios' latest release has its players make a final choice to conclude the story after a save point of no return. Rather than having traditional endgame content after the main campaign, this means Deathloop's extended content comes from pursuing its achievements, which provide ample challenge and excitement. Here are the best things to do after beating Deathloop.
While the main narrative of the game may only take 10 to 20 hours to complete at a relaxed pace, it will take 40 to 50 hours to chase all of Deathloop's collectibles and achievements. Additionally, this first-person shooter offers a unique combination of a narrative campaign with PvP multiplayer, as players can try to disrupt other gamers' main campaigns by invading them as Julianna. This feature alone will satiate many hunters for hours and potentially extends how long it takes to complete Colt's quest to break the loop, depending on an invader's skill.
Achievements in Deathloop are generally divided between finding certain items or upgrades and completing different parts of the game with various challenging restrictions. Players can chase down achievements related to absorbing high amounts of Residuum, infusing one of each weapon type, or bringing Trinkets with them into the field. Beyond these hunts for trinkets and upgrades, however, the best thing to do after beating the game is hunting its gameplay trophies.
As expected, there are bog-standard trophies for simply beating certain parts of the game. But the real fun of Deathloop comes from beating the game in style. Several trophies revolve around creatively killing the various Visionaries in the game, such as taking out Charlie and Fia with a single bullet, or ending Aleksis with his own meat grinder. Other trophies require players to be silent and unseen, beating maps without being spotted at all; "Silent Disco" is unlocked by completely avoiding detection while killing every Visionary present. For an even more creative challenge, players can unlock "Mightier Than the Gun" by killing every Visionary on a map and making it to the exit without using a gun. Understandably, some players may want to disable Julianna's invasions in Deathloop if they hope to complete these specific challenges.
For the ultimate challenge, Deathloop players simply can pursue the "Into Eternity" trophy. The requirement is simply to, "Collect all other trophies." This should keep Colt busy for quite a while. All in all, these extra challenges blend with Deathloop's inventive and unique gameplay to create a novel experience even after the main story ends.
Deathloop is available for PC and PlayStation 5.
