An Assassin’s Creed Valhalla fan has posted an impressive timelapse video that shows the game’s stunning graphics and day-night cycle in action. Like all previous Assassin’s Creed games, Valhalla is set in a real-world location, in this instance being the British Isles during the Viking Expansions from 872 AD to 878 AD.
The story of Viking leader Eivor and their quest to help their clan build a new home amid the age-old conflict between the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order may be fictional, but Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is noted for its spot-on recreation of the lands of the British Isles, so much so that Discover Ireland recently used footage from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Wrath Of The Druids in a tourism commercial. Not only that, but Ubisoft is bringing back Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s Discovery Tour mode next month, which will allow players to experience the everyday life of a Viking settler without having to worry about story missions or combat. Meanwhile, some players just want to sit back and enjoy the sunrise.
A couple of days ago, Reddit user and YouTube content creator GAME-LAPSE posted a timelapse video of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla to r/assassinscreed, as they have done with games like Forza Horizon 4 and Cyberpunk 2077 in the past. This brief clip features roughly 132 hours of in-game footage sped up to about a minute and a half, depicting Eivor sitting on a perch and watching the sun rise and set repeatedly. Players can see just how realistic Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s skyline is, with clouds naturally blowing past, birds flying by, and rainstorms forming as the days and nights pass by.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was met with reasonable praise when it first launched last November for its meaningful plot and interconnected activities that made players feel like they were truly building a close-knit Viking community, and had the Assassin’s Creed’s series’ biggest launch to date in terms of sales. The game has since seen two DLC expansions: the aforementioned Wrath Of The Druids that pitted Eivor against a mysterious cult in Ireland, and Siege Of Paris, which features the titular battle against French monarch Charles the Fat - known throughout history as one of the Viking’s most noteworthy and daring conquests.
GAME-LAPSE’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla timelapse video is a visually impressive display of the game’s stunning skyline graphics and weather cycle, as well as the level of detail Ubisoft put into their latest historical open-world RPG title.
