During Week 9 of Fortnite Season 7, Dr. Slone once again tasks players with thwarting the Aliens' plans, this time by disabling their Billboards to prevent them from spreading propaganda. As players enter matches in Week 9 of Fortnite Season 7, they will likely encounter the new Billboards at various named locations around the map. If they get closer to any of these Billboards, they will see the grim message, "Submit." As part of the Legendary Questline for Week 9, after getting Slone's orders from a payphone, players will need to find and equip an Alien Signal Detector and disable one of these Alien Billboards.
There are eight possible named locations where players can equip a Detector and disable Alien Billboards in Week 9 of Fortnite Season 7. These all tend to be high-traffic areas during a match, so players should be prepared to fight opponents while they work to complete their challenge. Thankfully, the Detectors are usually not found too far from the Alien Billboards, so players won't need to make themselves vulnerable for very long. Completing this quest also rewards XP, which can help players level up their Fortnite Season 7 Battle Pass and earn more Battle Stars so they can unlock more seasonal rewards. Here's how to use a Detector to disable Alien Billboards in Week 9 of Fortnite Season 7.
To disable Alien Billboards in Fortnite Season 7, players will need to pick up a Detector first. These can be found near the Alien Billboards in a briefcase. To equip the Detector, players will need to open the case and follow the button prompts. Then, they can move to any of the available Billboards in the area to disable them. As they approach, they should see a button prompt to Disable Subliminal Message. Following this prompt will complete the challenge.
Players will find Detectors and Alien Billboards in the following named locations: Believer Beach, Boney Burbs, Pleasant Park, Craggy Cliffs, Retail Row, Catty Corner, Lazy Lake, and Misty Meadows. The map above by Fortnite.gg shows the specific locations of all Detectors and Alien Billboards. On the map, the Detectors appear in beige, and the Billboards appear in green.
To make this Legendary Quest easier to complete, players should consider landing at one of these eight named locations directly from the Battle Bus so they can get a head start before opponents begin fighting in the area. Craggy Cliffs and Alternatively, players may also choose to complete this challenge in the quieter Team Rumble Mode to ensure they don't get eliminated before they can complete the challenge. This challenge must be completed in a single match and will not save progress, so players have to both equip the Detector and disable the Billboard before they are eliminated, or they will have to start over from the beginning.
After equipping a Detector and disabling an Alien Billboard in the same match in Week 9 of Fortnite Season 7, players will receive 45,000 XP toward their Battle Pass. They will also unlock the next quest in the storyline, which tasks them with collecting resources at Holly Hatchery.
Fortnite is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
