Ubisoft has announced that its upcoming multiplayer sports title Riders Republic has been delayed once again. The game promises high-octane competitive action as players take part in a variety of sports, including mountain biking, snowboarding, and rocket wingsuiting. Riders Republic was originally supposed to launch in February.
In a new statement, Ubisoft has confirmed that Riders Republic has been delayed again. The game's planned release date of September 2 has been pushed back by a few weeks, with a new launch date of October 28. Announcing the news on its website, Ubisoft explained that the "tough decision" was made in order for the developer to "fine tune" the experience, and to give players another chance to try the game before release to provide feedback to the team. Ubisoft has advised fans waiting for more news on the game to "stay tuned" for future announcements. While the pushback is unfortunate, Riders Republic promises a true new-gen experience, and the game will certainly benefit from the extra time in development.
Developed by Ubisoft Annecy, Riders Republic is a massive multiplayer online game set to take video game sports to new heights. The game's reveal in 2020 wowed fans with the sheer number of on-screen competitors, highlighting the power of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles when compared to last generation's online play count capabilities. Players have already been impressed with what's been shown of the game, which is looking much deeper than a typical sporting release. As well as competitive sports events, additional Riders Republic gameplay features include customization, Trick Battles, and exploration. While players now have a little longer to wait for the release, the game will hopefully live up to expectations.
Riders Republic will release on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Stadia on October 28.
