Marvel's Hawkeye series on Disney+ is set to premiere on November 24, 2021, officially premiering before the Ms. Marvel series slated for the streaming service. It has been a busy year for MCU television shows on Disney+, with Hawkeye following WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and What If...? Fans have been awaiting more information about Hawkeye for some time now, and with any luck the premiere date will only be the tip of the news iceberg.
Jeremy Renner first appeared as the Avenger's archer, Clint Barton, in 2011's Thor for a brief uncredited cameo, and was officially introduced to audiences in the first Avengers film in 2012. Since then Renner's character appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: End Game (and a brief uncredited voice-cameo in this year's Black Widow). Before Hawkeye premieres, Renner will also be voicing at least one version of Barton in the new What If...? series on Disney+.
In a recent EW interview with Renner, it was confirmed that Hawkeye would premiere before Ms. Marvel on Disney+. With Hawkeye's premiere so late in the year, many fans are wondering how much time that realistically leaves for Ms. Marvel in 2021, though there is a chance the series could continue into 2022. Either way, with the November 24th premiere date Marvel is leaving a large gap between the end of What If...? and Hawkeye, making it very strange that they would still have Ms. Marvel following the archer's series.
Even if Hawkeye is only 6 episodes (a number yet to be confirmed by Marvel), that still would leave no room for Ms. Marvel in 2021. Unless Marvel is planning to double-dip, and perhaps Ms. Marvel would get a Friday release day while Hawkeye continues the Wednesday release date that started with episodes of Loki. If that is the case, then the end of 2021 is going to have a plethora of Marvel content, which will hopefully go over well with viewers.
Some might theorize that if Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel do end up streaming concurrently, than perhaps there is some cross-over happening which would only make sense if they were on Disney+ at the same time. Could Yelena's assassination attempt on Clint be big news seen on Kamala's newsfeed at some point in her show? Could Kamala, Kate and Yelena meet up at some point as Marvel continues on the road to the Young Avengers? One thing is for certain, Marvel does not make these scheduling decisions lightly, and it is only a matter of time until the pieces start to come together. Until then, audiences have What If...? to look forward to on Disney+.
