3 She Can Be Self-Centered
Another fan considers Meredith to be self-centered and mentioned a scene when a male patient was on a stretcher and heading into surgery, Meredith randomly commented that it could have been her in that situation.
In some ways, Meredith's tendency to think and talk about herself makes perfect sense, as she has experienced so much in her life and thus tries to help make the patient feel better by relating to their circumstances. In the season 11 episode 'I Must Have Lost It on the Wind,' Meredith wakes Jo and Alex up, and they're upset with her. Alex explains that it's not cool for her to bother them in the middle of the night when they're in bed together. Yet, she still kicks Jo out of the bed so she can talk to him.
This was a weird moment for Meredith because while fans love Alex and Meredith's close friendship, Meredith should have respected his relationship with Jo more. Most people wouldn't be thrilled if their friend acted this way.
