After a little while without new island content, Genshin Impact has introduced the final special event of the Golden Apple Archipelago: Kabomball Kombat. For players who were looking for a reason to return to the islands before they disappear for good, this event is the perfect way to occupy time and earn some great rewards.
Kaboomball Kombat is a dodgeball-style limited-time event in the 1.6 Update. Once players complete all the main story quests of the Golden Apple Archipelago (and ensure they are at least Adventure Rank 21+), they will activate the quest that unlocks this event. Once players go to the islands again, Paimon will ask the traveler how they think Albedo is doing. Next, players need to go to the island that had the bubble dome to start the challenge.
The Kaboomball Event has the player stand in a box in front of a Dodofortress. Players have to tap the attack button to swing their Dodoguard at the right time to deflect Kaboomballs, sending them back to the Dodofortress to deal damage. If players deflect at the right time, it’ll be a Perfect Return, dealing even more damage to the fortress. During the event, Shazamfruits will appear on the ground. Picking these up will grant various buffs, from ensuring all returns are Perfect Returns, to dealing greater damage to the fortress.
The event has three different trials, and each comes with its own set of challenges players can complete. These range from destroying a certain amount of Dodofortresses, to dealing a certain amount of Perfect Returns. These challenges can take a few tries to complete, and players can do the event in Multiplayer mode with one other teammate to make completing challenges easier.
Completing challenges will grant players Enigma Gears. These gears can be exchanged in the event shop for Primogems, Mora, Talent Level-Up Materials, and Character EXP Materials. With 1500 gears, players can also buy the new limited edition Event Namecard that they can display on their profile.
The Kaboomball Kombat event will be available from July 2nd to July 12th of 2021, so interested players should definitely give it a try before it’s gone. Besides the fantastic rewards, the summer event is a uniquely fun new gameplay experience that players won’t want to miss!
