Genshin Impact 1.0 Ending Celebrated With 4-Disc OST Release

The end of Genshin Impact Version 1.0 is going out in style with the release of a four-disc commemorative original soundtrack (OST). miHoYo has honored the upcoming launch of Genshin Impact Version 2.0 with a long livestream exploring the popular free-to-play RPG with its developers, as well as highlighting what's to come with the new update.

A game that's been heavily compared to some of the best AAA games of all time, Genshin Impact released in 2020 and quickly became a worldwide hit. The RPG sports not only a beautiful, Breath of the Wild-like art style, but also robust combat, lots of limited-time events, and a very lore-rich story. Genshin Impact has been successful on all of its current platforms, and Nintendo Switch will also see the live-service arrive on the handheld hybrid platform at some point in the future.

Ahead of the release of Genshin Impact Version 2.0, the latest Special Program stream revealed what players can expect. Alongside chats with developers behind the game's combat and world design, the video also announced the release of a new music album, named "The Shimmering Voyage". The Shimmering Voyage will be a four-disc OST soundtrack, with discs entitled Fairytales of the Isles, Blazing Stars, Roar of the Formidable, and A Stranger's Sojourn. The collection is composed of 68 tracks from composer Yu-Peng Chen, each one being an original composition from Genshin Impact. While no release date has yet been announced, fans have been advised to keep an eye on Genshin Impact social media channels for more.

Since before release, Genshin Impact has drawn Zelda comparisons, with both featuring (among other things) unique adventure soundtracks that help to fully immerse players in the game worlds. However, the latter has gone on to forge its own identity with its steady stream of updates and events. Genshin's Version 2.0 will welcome gamers into the new region of Inazuma, which will also get its own OST release at some point in the future. Inazuma promises to add even more into the huge world of Genshin Impact, adding three levels that include mountain areas, towns, and underground areas.

Gamers who haven't yet delved into the world of Genshim Impact might find that now's a better time than ever. The game is skipping Versions 1.7 - 1.9 to bring Inazuma to gamers as soon as possible, and players even sign up now for the Genshin Impact Version 2.1 beta. While the free-to-play game may put off some players with the mention of microtransactions, it's worth noting that gamers can work through the title without needing to pay for any add-ons. The new Genshin Impact Version 2.0 releases July 21, 2021.
