Idris Elba has taken center stage in yet another Fortnite teaser trailer, announcing that his Suicide Squad character Bloodsport will drop onto the island in the very near future. The actor first unveiled Bloodsport's upcoming Fortnite crossover in a 10-second teaser video that went live yesterday, July 28. In it, Elba confirmed more news would hit the web soon.
The mercenary counts as just one of many DC heroes, anti-heroes, and villains to join the popular battle royale experience. As many a fan may recall, Bloodsport's fellow Suicide Squad member Harley Quinn entered the mix last year in honor of Birds of Prey's theatrical release. Beast Boy and Raven, both notable members of Teen Titans, recently hit the island, too. And Batman has played a major part in the vast Fortnite universe, even spawning a crossover comic series. Now it's Bloodsport's turn to wreak havoc on the world of Fortnite.
As previously promised, Epic Games shared more news about the Bloodsport content in an all-new trailer featuring Idris Elba. The actor notably announced that The Suicide Squad's deadly mercenary will come to Fortnite on Tuesday, August 3 at 8:00 PM ET. Bloodsport won't hold back either; as a "world-class marksman," the guy single-handedly sent the Man of Steel to the ICU with the help of a Kryptonite bullet. And every object he picks up instantly warrants classification as lethal. In short, Bloodsport should prove quite formidable on the battlefield. Check out the Idris Elba-starring teaser below:
Superman, who entered Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 as a special skin, may want to keep an eye out for Bloodsport. The latter's forthcoming arrival couldn't come at a better time, given the imminent release of James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, which hits theaters on Friday, August 6.
Fortnite's seventh season kicked off earlier this summer on June 7 and comes to a close on September 12, indicating that Season 8 is right around the corner. Details on the season shift remain scant at best since Epic Games has yet to share much in the way of concrete information. However, a number of uncorroborated rumors claim that content related to Ariana Grande, Justice League, and Naruto is on the horizon.
Fortnite is available across the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Android platforms; Bloodsport will enter the fray on August 3.
