The Below Deck alum Chef Ben Robinson admitted that he has no plans to return to any franchise series in the future. It has been more than two years since Ben appeared on the franchise after he saved the day during Below Deck Med season 4. Ben was called to the boat towards the end of the season after their initial chef was fired. The third stew Anastasia Surmava filled in as chef for most of the season. However, she quickly realized that she couldn't handle the pressures of the galley.
Before appearing on Below Deck Med, Chef Ben appeared on the original Bravo series, which takes place in Caribbean waters. He was the full-time chef on seasons 1 and 2 but didn't return to season 3 until the very end when Chef Leon Walker left the boat due to his ongoing feud with chief stew Kate Chastain. Ben came back for season 4, making that season his last on the original Below Deck series.
During an Instagram Live with Bugsy Drake last month, Chef Ben admitted he may be "a little too old" to make another return to the Bravo series (via Showbiz Cheat Sheet). He revealed that he decided to retire as a yacht chef after appearing on Below Deck Med season 4. Now, Ben is focused on working as a private chef on land, and that he plans to host events in England at some point in the future. However, that doesn't mean that Ben will never be on TV again. He revealed to The Mirror last summer that he still loves cooking, as well as "directing and putting shows together," so there is a possibility that Chef Ben, who dated Emily, could return to put TV screens in some other capacity, away from the Below Deck franchise.
In the past, Chef Ben joined the boat halfway through the season after the original chef left or was fired. Ben was portrayed as the one who saved the day after the charter season was almost ruined. Viewers began to wonder if Ben would replace Chef Mathew Shea, who is on the current season of Below Deck Med. During last week's episode preview, it seems as though Mathew packs up his bags and leaves the vessel after feeling the pressures of yacht life. Nonetheless, it doesn't seem very likely that Ben will show up to save the day if Chef Mathew really does leave Lady Michelle for good.
After years as a yacht chef, Ben Robinson has decided to end up his career as a yacht. He had a great run cooking on white boats. He worked for more than 12 years on different boats with different crews. Now, Ben is enjoying his life on land, working for a variety of clients in the United States and England.
Below Deck Med airs Mondays at 9 pm EST on Bravo.
