AC Valhalla: Siege Of Paris DLC Release Date Set For August 12

Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin's Creed Valhalla's second story DLC, The Siege of Paris, will maintain its previously announced summer 2021 launch; the expansion goes live next month on August 12. Following the DLC announcement ahead of AC Valhalla's November 2020 release, Ubisoft spent months keeping fans in the dark about its plans for Paris-set story content.

That changed during E3 2021, however, thanks to a brief trailer that provided an overview on what players could expect. In addition to a brand-new region, the forthcoming DLC will specifically introduce fresh gear, abilities, enemy types, and weapons. All will most definitely prove beneficial during what's sure to be an intense and action-packed thrill ride. Based on the historical Viking conflict, The Siege of Paris will task players with infiltrating war-torn Frankia to overtake the fortified city of Paris. And the wait for such an experience is nearly at an end.

A press release from Ubisoft confirms The Siege of Paris is scheduled to go live on Thursday, August 12. Season Pass owners will gain instant access to the content upon release. Meanwhile, those who aren't interested in the Season Pass' other offerings can purchase the expansion separately for the price of $24.99. Set across the Frankish countryside, The Siege of Paris boasts the aforementioned additions of new weapons and abilities, and more; however, the DLC also heralds the return of Infiltration Missions, the Black Box quests that give users complete reign over how they approach assigned targets.

While The Siege of Paris is set to close one chapter of the Assassin's Creed Valhalla saga, Ubisoft has no plans to abandon the best-selling title anytime soon. A second year of post-launch content is currently in the works, meaning fans can look forward to far more than the previously teased Discovery Tour Viking Age.

Details about the second year of content, a first for the long-running series, presently remains scarce at best. Although, Ubisoft Chief Financial Officer Frédérick Duguet recently claimed in an earnings call that the ongoing support will prove "very ambitious and surprising." Should all go as internally planned, AC Valhalla could very well become the franchise's "best performer" yet.
