The development team behind Fallout 4's Fallout: London mod has unleashed an official reveal trailer showcasing the various London locations featured in the "DLC-sized" package. Set in an alternate history post-World War II timeline, the Fallout franchise historically takes place in America. Thus, players of the series have ventured across post-apocalyptic versions of California, Nevada, Utah, and West Virginia; meanwhile, the likes of the United Kingdom have merely received a few mentions throughout the brand's lengthy history.
A number of work-in-progress mods are currently looking to expand the franchise's horizons a bit. Notably, the Fallout: Cascadia mod boasts a post-war 2239 setting in Washington State's largest city - Seattle. Another team has spent the last three-plus years developing Fallout: Miami, a content release that will allow players to explore the "Vacation Wasteland" of what was once Miami Beach. And fans are patiently awaiting updates that improve the Fallout: New Vegas mod Fallout: The Frontier, which launched in January with a Portland, Oregon setting as one of its main attractions. Now Fallout faithful have yet another fan-made project to look forward to, one that ventures far beyond American borders.
Recently, the modding team behind Fallout: London released a reveal trailer highlighting its vision for a London-set, "DLC-sized" Fallout 4 mod. Running more than two minutes in length, the video shows London dilapidated, brought to its knees by Resource Wars that crippled the city's class-based society. The developers went all-in with regards to the production value, too, evidenced by the incredible narration and quality imagery on display. Even those who have no interest in the PC mod should take a look.
Fallout: London presently lacks firm release date details. In fact, barring a basic overview of the London setting, information about the mod in general remains rather scant. Still, it could prove just as promising as any of the other major Fallout 4 mods.
The crew at Bethesda Game Studios continues to work on rolling out content of its own for the franchise's most recent entry, Fallout 76. During the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase at E3 2021, the studio shared details about two upcoming expansions. The free Steel Reign DLC goes live on July 7, promising to bring an end to the Brotherhood of Steel story arc. Expeditions: The Pitt will touch down sometime in 2022; this particular expansion will most notably see players return to the Fallout 3 setting of Pittsburgh.
The Fallout: London team has yet to reveal a release date for its Fallout 4 mod.
