Does F9 Have A Post-Credits Scene (& How Many)? | Screen Rant

The Fast & Furious franchise's latest movie sees Dom Toretto's (Vin Diesel) family return, but does F9 have a post-credits scene - and, if so, how many? The car-fueled blockbuster series has come a long way since the first film about street racing thieves hit theaters 20 years ago. It's since grown into a multi-billion dollar franchise. It even launched its own spinoff series with Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, which acted as a kind of throwback to the two-handers of the early films centered around Diesel's Dom Toretto and Paul Walker's Bryan O'Conner. Since Fast Five though, the mainline movies have been more ensemble films, even as Dom has remained the leader of the group in the wake of Walker's passing and Bryan's subsequent retirement.

Like many major blockbuster franchises, Fast & Furious has employed post-credits scenes to set up future installments, going all the way back to that very first film in 2001. Since then, the series hasn't used credits scenes too often, but did reveal in the stinger attached to Fast & Furious 6 that Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) killed Han (Sung Kang), effectively setting up Furious 7's villain. Most recently, Hobbs & Shaw included multiple post-credits scenes teasing the future of its own spinoff series. And with more Fast & Furious movies set to release after F9, it's the perfect opportunity to lay the groundwork for what's to come.

Now that F9 is releasing in theaters around the world, moviegoers may be wondering whether the Fast & Furious franchise installment has any stingers during or after the credits. F9 has ONE post-credits scene at the mid-credits point, but nothing at the very end of the credits. While it's always worth watching the credits to get an idea of who had a hand in making a film, F9 viewers should only expect one credits scene, and it plays during the mid-credits spot.

In terms of whether the F9 post-credits scene is worth sticking around for, it does set up a future Fast & Furious movie to resolve an important story point in the franchise that many fans have taken issue with. Without spoiling the scene, it also includes a surprise that long-time fans of the franchise will find satisfying. As such, those who have followed the series and are interested in what's next for the Fast & Furious characters would do well with waiting to watch the F9 credits scene.

With nine movies under its belt, the Fast & Furious franchise is still going strong two decades after its launch, and there's plenty more to come. Although Fast & Furious 10 and 11 will end the main film series, there's also a Hobbs & Shaw sequel in the works as well as the female-centric spinoff that's been teased. Considering the wealth of characters in the series and its success at the box office, there's no doubt it will continue for as long as audiences are interested in the property. And to get an idea of what's coming next, audiences will want to stick around for the F9 post-credits scene.
