The Circle Season 2: Every Player, Ranked By Their Strategy

Season 2 of Netflix's hit social media gameshow The Circle just concluded its 13-episode run on May 5, 2021. After several weeks of intense competition, the player to emerge victoriously was none other than Trevor, aka catfish Deleesa Carrasquillo.

However, just because Trevor was named the winner doesn't necessarily mean they employed the best game strategy on their way to victory. While some players were more manipulative than others, some insisted on remaining true to their hearts in the end by voting for who they truly deserved to win. While a lot goes into the gameplay strategy on The Circle, here are the players to excel the most.

10 Bryant

Despite his genuinely sweet nature and positive vibrations, the self-proclaimed hippy and professional breathing expert Bryant Wood had nary a shot at winning The Circle.

Bryant's strategy was to present himself as authentically as possible. The issue was that some of his personality traits didn't come off that well through chat. As such, Bryant was the first player to be blocked in the very first episode.

9 Mitchell

Just like his mother and brother in Season 1, Mitchell Eason joined The Circle during midseason. Despite making it all the way to the penultimate episode and final six contestants, Micthell didn't have much of a gameplay strategy while in the apartment.

In fact, once Mitchell was officially blocked, he admitted to Lee that he only began to think about strategy during the final week of competition. As a retort, Lee told him that he probably waited too long to devise a long-term game plan. As such, Micthell's alliance with Khat fizzled.

8 Khat

When professional volleyball player Khat Bell entered the apartment in the middle of the season, the expectation was that she would use her status as an athlete to foster a methodical game plan. Alas, her ultra-competitive nature backfired gloriously.

In addition to unwisely choosing Mitchell as her primary alliance, Khat's biggest downfall in terms of her strategy was airing out her vocal disbelief in Too Hot to Handle star Chloe Veitch joining the show. Khat was too honest during her private conversations with the others and didn't consider the ramifications.

7 Savannah

When the highly intelligent, robot-building Savannah Palacio was voted the number one player in the house during the very first rankings, her status as the top influencer led viewers to believe she was a major competitive force to be reckoned with. Alas, things went south fast.

Savannah began her time in The Circle allied with Terilisha, but as soon as the two had to decide which player to block, they had an immediate falling out. That feud led to both getting blocked shortly after.

6 Terilisha

Much like Savannah, Terilisha emerged as a promising frontrunner after the inaugural episode. However, after being voted as the number two influencer in The Circle, she couldn't conceal her true ambitions.

Upon disagreeing on who to block, Terelisha and Savannah had a massive row which led to a dramatic dustup in The Circle. Terelisha's strategy was to align with Chloe and Emily, but in the process, she alienated Courtney and River in a manner that ultimately got her blocked.

5 John (Jack & Lisa)

As separate players, Emily (Jack Atkins) and Lance Bass (Lisa Delcampo) weren't terribly strategic. However, once they were blocked and joined forces as the 64-year-old catfish John, their gameplay became much more adept.

At first, Jack felt like more of an outside commentator than a contestant as catfish Emily. His catfishing ability was not very strong, leading to his exposure when he failed to properly apply makeup on a female mannequin. Lisa's downfall came from choosing too famous a celebrity persona that nobody but River believed was authentic. However, when paired as John, the two used their knowledge of other players to convince them of his profession as a psychic.

4 Chloe

As the most famous person in the Circle, Chloe Veitch was intent to use her overwhelming popularity as her chief strategy. Her naive and gullible demeanor allowed her to be her silly self, which endeared her contestants enough to be voted the top influencer several times.

Beyond being herself, Chloe's strategic alliances remained the closest with Trevor, on whom she had a crush, as well as River and Courtney. Her affable and bubbly personality made her relatable to other players, earning her a spot at the final table.

3 River (Lee)

Had River (Lee Swift) voted with his head instead of his heart during the final vote, his strategy might be ranked a tad higher. Still, that 58-year-old author Lee Swift was able to successfully catfish his way to the finale as young River, he deserves applause.

As someone with years of experience catfishing readers under a female pen name, Lee had a preternatural understanding of how to trick his fellow players. His best strategies included remaining steadfast in his alliance with River, voting in his best interest, spotting other catfish (Trevor), and remaining extremely likable throughout.

2 Courtney

As the only finalist other than Chloe to portray their real identity, Courtney Revolution deserves praise for employing a near-winning strategy. In addition to forging the strongest alliance in The Circle with River, Courtney was stealthy enough to remain anonymous as The Joker.

Moreover, Courtney never let the emotions get the best of him. Instead, he played the game with tremendous foresight and constantly remained in the mid-ranking sweet spot where he was never deemed too much of a threat or unpopular enough to warrant blocking.

1 Trevor (Deleesa)

By far the best strategy demonstrated in The Circle came from the ultimate winner, Trevor (Deleesa). Playing as her real-life husband, Deleesa managed to trick the entire cast for the whole season and deserved to win the $100,000 for their baby.

As Trevor, Deleesa managed to stave off suspicion while also ingratiating herself to the others. One of her best strategies was bringing notes from her husband, which paid off when asking to name three famous basketball players. Had she failed to do so, she would have been exposed almost instantly.
