When looking at the group at the center of New Girl, could be considered the most underrated. It's understandable, as she is more of a relaxed and normal presence, while the rest of them are zany. That makes it so she often feels like the one who brings the least amount of laughs.
Her funny moments are ones the audience never sees coming, as they are extremely random. At times, they seem to go against her character, but that thankfully does not hurt the overall quality and hilarity of them. Through them, it seems as though that she builds closer bonds with the rest of the group, too.
10 When She Agitates Schmidt On Thanksgiving
During the loft's first Thanksgiving, the audience learns just how into cooking Schmidt is. He prepares the entire meal on his own, but Cece sure creates obstacles in the process.
She finds Schmidt attractive when he gets angry, so she purposely sets him off by putting mashed potatoes on his nose and sticking her unwashed hands in them. It shows how mischievous Cece can be.
9 When She Talks Like A Baby
Cece feels excluded when the gang reveals that each roommate has habits that annoy the others. When she finds out that they do not have one for her, she purposely aims to irritate them to feel part of the group more.
While they all are having a heated discussion about it, Cece begins to talk like a baby. Her baby voice is pretty funny, especially when considering her regular voice does not sound anything like it.
8 When Jess Tells Her About Nick Kissing Her
One of the most memorable moments of the series is the first kiss between Nick and Jess. However, there is conflict with it, as Jess is still with Sam at this point. It makes the whole thing difficult.
When Jess tells Cece about the kiss, it leads to one of Cece's funniest scenes. Her reaction is a high-pitched and lingering, "what?" Although it may seem small in writing, it is absolutely hysterical when watching it transpire.
7 When She Delivers A Legendary Line
Jess and Cece have a big argument during the latter's bachelorette party. This is specifically when Cece is set to marry Shivrang, even though it is clear that she does not love him. When Jess suggests that Cece should contemplate going through with it more, it leads to a legendary line.
At this point, Jess is obsessing over her kiss with Nick, so Cece says, "Oh no. I'm a single adult, and I kissed another single adult. What's gonna happen?" The delivery of this line is hilarious, even if it occurs during a heated conflict. It also is something that certainly comes across the minds of audience members during this part of the series.
6 When She Wants Chicken Wings
During a bar crawl, Cece becomes competitive with Nick and aims to drink more than him. However, this is a monstrous task, as Nick handles his liquor very well. Cece begins to feel the impact far before he does, too.
When Schmidt sits to talk with Cece, her voice is entirely different from drinking, and she continues to say that she wants chicken wings. While this transpires, Schmidt is trying to talk to her about his fight with Fawn. Yet, it is clearly not the time to, as Cece is far too focused on chicken wings.
5 When She Tricks KC Into Thinking Winston Is Dead
After KC dumps Winston, he wants to make her cry, as he is sick of being the person who always does. He asks Cece to go to KC's house and tell her that he is dead. Although she originally is against it, she decides to help Winston out.
It is funny that Cece would go so out of character to help her close friend feel better. When she notices that KC is with the man that Winston thought she cheated on him with, she does not hold back with her delivery of the lie either.
4 When She Tricks Nick Into Thinking Reagan Wears A Wig
When Reagan moves into the loft, Nick has a very hard time acting normal around her because of his big crush on her. This leads to him saying very strange and awkward things to her, which the rest of the group takes note of.
As a way to try to prevent this, Schmidt and Cece convince him that Reagan actually wears a wig. Nick at first does not buy it but then tries to figure out if it's true. Cece is particularly funny when telling this lie, as her answers to his questions are clearly lies and not well thought out.
3 When She Makes A Fake EDM Song With Winston
After Cece and Winston make fun of Schmidt for his love for EDM music, they create their own to try to trick him. Schmidt scoffs at the challenge and tells them that there is no way they can succeed in their efforts, as it takes real talent to make music of this genre.
It is side-splitting when they make the song, as they use sounds from inside the loft. These include Nick shaving without shaving cream and Schmidt saying "Haberman." The pair bond well when creating the song and even end up getting Schmidt to believe it is real.
2 When She Loves The La Cucaracha Doorbell
When Schmidt and Cece get married, they naturally move out and buy their very own house. Schmidt is the person in control when it comes to decorating it, which is fitting to his character.
However, Cece wants to be a part of it and wants a doorbell that plays La Cucaracha for it. Schmidt immediately rejects her proposal and in a very agitated manner, too. Cece is a gas during it, though, as she has a giant smile when it plays. In the end, Schmidt does change his mind and lets her have it, which is nice to see.
1 When She Has Lunch With Jess
In the final season, Cece and Jess decide to meet for lunch during their breaks. It is a very good friendship moment between them, as Cece encourages her to stand up to Russell for not letting her be a part of his meeting.
The two also become a bit rambunctious in the process, as Cece even accidentally puts sugar in her wine, instead of her coffee. Cece not only is great in this scene with her guidance, but she also is when it comes to her overall humor, too.
