Godzilla vs Kong Parody Poster Pits Dragon Ball's Goku vs Great Ape Vegeta

A Godzilla vs. Kong parody poster replaces the Titans with Dragon Ball's Goku and Great Ape Vegeta. Hype has certainly not slowed for the big MonsterVerse showdown next month. The trailer debuted to the highest views for a Warner Bros picture. Since then, the trailer has climbed past 56 million views, making it by far the most watched MonsterVerse teaser.

It's hard to find reasons not to be excited for Godzilla vs. Kong. Based on the trailer, the film will indeed deliver a smackdown of the century. Much to fans' delight, some of the action will happen in broad daylight. The film also appears to have a mystery as a central element. Godzilla seems to be purposely attacking humanity, and no one appears to know why. Whether the giant reptile has grown angry with people, or is being impersonated, it should be very interesting seeing how the story unfolds. Unsurprisingly, Godzilla vs. Kong has inspired plenty of fan content, including parodies of the poster. Recently, one artist replaced Kong with Resident Evil Village's Lady Dimitrescu, giving Godzilla a vampiric enemy to fight.

In a new Godzilla vs. Kong parody poster, artist Jackson Caspersz pits Goku against Great Ape Vegeta. In Dragon Ball Z, Vegeta's Great Ape form caused major trouble for Goku in the manga/anime's second saga. Check out the poster below.

This isn't the first time Kong and Dragon Ball Z have mixed in fan art. If Dragon Ball Z is ever faithfully adapted for live-action, it would be a visual spectacle seeing Vegeta in his Great Ape form, and the uphill battle to defeating it. Sadly, the Great Ape transformations pretty much vanish after the Vegeta saga, never becoming a major focus again in the main series.

Although a true live-action Great Ape doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon, Kong should deliver all the action a fan can want. With Godzilla seemingly being portrayed as an antagonist, that could open the door to audiences rooting for the giant ape to win the day. Kong's battle-axe could be a game-changer in the conflict. Of course, it's hard to say where the story will go. Director Adam Wingard teased a winner in the past, and the poster states "One Will Fall." One Titan looks to win, but what then? Speculation, along with fan art, will continue to flourish as the countdown to Godzilla vs. Kong's release at the end of March continues.
