Former star of The Bacehlor Nick Viall has found new hope with his girlfriend, Natalie Joy. He said he's "super happy" with the surgical technologist, but that their relationship had a rocky start.
Nick Viall hasn't had much luck finding love on reality TV. The 40-year-old appeared on The Bachelorette twice and was runner-up both times. He first appeared on Andi Dorfman's season as the villain and came in second to Josh Murray. Nick then crashed Kaitlyn Bristowe's season, where he placed second to Shawn Booth. After a turn on Bachelor In Paradise, he gained popularity with fans and was named the next Bachelor. He chose Vanessa Grimaldi as his winner, and the two were engaged for about 9 months before they split. Vanessa announced her engagement to Josh Wolfe last year. Since The Bachelor, Nick has been linked to various women, including actress January Jones. His latest flame is Natalie Joy, but he claims this time is different.
Nick and Natalie were linked some time ago, but only went public with their relationship in the last couple weeks. "Yeah, I'm in a relationship. It's fun," he said on his podcast, The Viall Files. "I have those moments of gratitude and thankfulness. There's moments where I'm like, 'You're really great and I'm really happy you're a part of my life,'" he added. The two met on Instagram when Natalie slid into Nick's DMs. "It's the kind of meet cute you want," he said of her message. A source told People that the pair have been dating since last year, but they have yet to confirm when their relationship started. Their relationship status was apparently a big issue in their romance.
Nick revealed during the podcast that Natalie almost broke up with him over his hesitation to commit. "She finally got to the point where she was like, 'I want to date,' and I was like, 'I don't know,'" he admitted. Natalie's confidence about walking away from Nick was what pulled him back in. "She took the advice I've told a lot of people on this podcast and said, 'Okay. This is what I want. It's fine, no big deal. I'm going to do my own thing,'" he said. Nick was thrown by this, and said it made him realize he wanted her in his life. "She's very confident in the most chill way," he praised.
Has Nick finally found the one? We're hoping to see a lot more from Natalie and Nick in the future.
The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8 pm ET on ABC.
