In My Hero Academia, flashier Quirks like Deku's and Bakugo's often receive the most attention, while the others tend to fall to the wayside. Momo Yaoyorozu's Quirk, for example, is a practical one that lacks the showy visual effects of some of her classmates'. The ability to create objects using just your body, however, is an incredibly useful tool, especially in the hands of someone as capable as Momo.
In fact, if Momo were present for certain events in the anime, or if the other characters somehow possessed her Quirk, it might have made things much easier for My Hero's major players. Here are a few instances where having Momo's Quirk around would have been handy.
10 When Deku Took U.A. High's Entrance Exam
When Deku takes U.A. High's entrance exam, he's barely learned to use One for All, much less control it. Even with his quick wit and superior strategy skills, battling giant metal robots proves no easy feat. Jumping in to help one of his potential classmates doesn't help his chances of passing unscathed either.
In fact, Deku barely manages to pass his entrance exam, and he breaks his arms in the process of taking it. He might have had an easier time if he had Momo's ability to bring objects to life. After all, a weapon would fare much better against a huge robot than a teenage boy and his fists.
9 When Villains Attacked The USJ
When Shigaraki, Kurogiri and a Nomu attack Class 1-A during their trip to the USJ, the students are forced to take on villains way beyond their training level. Fortunately, all of them manage to get through the event with little damage, but they probably would have handled the situation much better if Momo's Quirk could be used in every fight, not just the one she was present for.
Given that most of the villains who joined Shigaraki's initial attack were on the weaker side, it's possible the ability to create tools or weapons would have helped Class 1-A and Eraserhead make easy work of them. Had they been able to create a means of contacting the other teachers or All Might, the fights wouldn't have gone on for so long either.
8 The Obstacle Race During The Sport's Festival
The Sports Festival gives U.A. High's first years numerous obstacles to overcome, and Momo's Quirk would have helped her peers handle them with ease. It would have been especially useful, however, during the first part of the festival when the heroes-in-training took part in an obstacle race. Not only did the race bring back the giant robots from the entrance exam, but it forced the students to navigate their way through a mine field.
Sure, Deku, Todoroki, and Bakugo managed to find creative ways to get ahead, but imagine how much better off they would have been with Momo's Quirk.
7 When Deku Fought Muscular
Fans have seen Deku get beat up pretty often, but perhaps never so badly as the time he fought Muscular when the League of Villains invaded U.A. High's summer camp. Deku barely makes it out of the encounter alive, and it's a wonder he even manages to get Koda to safety afterward—but having the ability to produce any object he liked might've made the whole thing a bit more bearable.
There's no denying that Deku was overpowered by Muscular, and it didn't help that no one else knew where he'd gone. If he'd been able to conjure up a cell phone or megaphone or something to alert the other heroes to his location, it's possible he could have gotten himself backup. (He could have made a cast for those arms afterward, too.)
6 When Bakugo Was Kidnapped
When Mr. Compress kidnaps Bakugo and Tokoyami, their classmates make a valiant effort to get them back. (In Tokoyami's case, they even succeed.) Using their Quirks, they're able to catch up to the villains and face off with them prior to Kurogiri arriving and whisking them away. One has to wonder if Momo's presence wouldn't have turned the tides in their favor and helped them save both of their classmates that day.
Todoroki was incredibly close to grabbing the marble Bakugo had been turned into from Dabi's hands. If he'd had the ability to conjure something to knock the object away -- or if Momo had been there to do it -- they might have snagged the vessel before the villains made away with it.
5 During Final Exams
Class 1-A's final exams see the students attempting to outsmart their teachers, something that doesn't go well for everyone in the class. While most of Momo's classmates are able to find a way to pass the exam, several of them are defeated by the Pros. Had they been able to create something to give them the upper hand, however, things might have turned out differently.
The best example of this is when Kaminari and Ashido go up against Principal Nezu. He essentially traps them before making his move, but, had they been able to create something like a canon, they might have escaped and passed. Kirishima and Sato also might have been able to make something to help them fend off Cementoss' attacks.
4 When Mirio And Deku Let Eri Go
During the Forest Camp Training arc, Momo uses her quick thinking and Quirk to attach a tracker to a Nomu that was attacking her and another student from Class 1-B. This device later helped the Pro Heroes track down the villains and save Bakugo, and Deku and Mirio could have used the same strategy to find Overhaul and Eri if they'd been able to create such a gadget.
Instead, the Pro Heroes are forced to conduct a reconnaissance mission in order to find and save Eri in season four. Not only does this leave them at a slight disadvantage when attacking the Shie Hassaikai, but it leaves Eri in their clutches longer than anyone would have liked. A tracker could have made quicker work of the mission at hand.
3 When Fatgum and Kirishima Fought Rappa
During the raid on the Shie Hassaikai, Kirishima and Fatgum take on two villains who nearly defeat the pair of them. The reason the villains have the upper hand is because they have both offensive and defensive maneuvers on their side. With powerful punches and a shield, they land most of the attacks without receiving much damage.
The tables might have turned sooner during this fight if Kirishima or Fatgum were able to call on Momo's ability. With her Quirk, it would be possible to make a weapon strong enough to piece the villains' shield, or a shield to defend themselves against Rappa's powerful blows.
2 When Mirio Fought Overhaul
Mirio's stand against Overhaul is one of the most intense battles from My Hero Academia thus far, and, although All Might's almost-successor handles the situation impressively, he pays a high price for protecting Eri from the villain. When one of Overhaul's lackeys aims a Quirk-erasing bullet at the girl, Mirio jumps in front of her, losing his permeation Quirk in the process. But, what if he'd had Momo's ability to form objects when necessary?
Not only could Mirio have created a shield using Momo's Quirk, blocking the Quirk-erasing bullet from ever hitting him, but he might have been able to create something to break through the wall and escape from Overhaul. As it played out, he was trapped and forced to take on the villain until help finally arrived.
1 When Deku Fought Gentle
Deku's fight with Gentle could have gone much worse, but the villain did give My Hero's main character a run for his money, especially when he dropped metal beams from a construction site on him.
Of course, Deku is more than capable of holding up such heavy objects, but not without concentrating all of his effort on the task, and that's what prolongs his conflict with the villain and almost allows Gentle to get away. If Deku could have created something to hold the beams for him, he might have had an easier time going head to head with Gentle.
