The show Avatar: The Last Airbender gave viewers numerous wonderful characters to empathize with and follow on their journeys. There's the happy-go-lucky Aang, the mom friend Katara, Sokka who always has a plan, and the badass Toph who doesn't care what anyone thinks.
But probably one of the most interesting characters is Zuko. His character arc was by far the most well-written which made his personality so complex. And that's why it may be somewhat hard to place him in a Hogwarts house, one of the things fans absolutely love doing.
10 Not Ravenclaw: "Why Am I So Bad At Being Good?"
Zuko's redemption arc is by far one of the most well-known aspects of his character (right after his fixation on honor). But his initial struggles to become a better person are all the more compelling because of that.
Zuko realizes that it's hard for him to unlearn all his bad past habits. He acknowledges this and tries to change for the better which puts him as a good Slytherin example.
9 Ravenclaw: "Zuko: If My Father Thinks The Rest Of The World Will Follow Him Willingly, Then He Is A Fool! / Zhao: Two Years At Sea Have Done Little To Temper Your Tongue."
There's a possibility that Zuko is a Ravenclaw considering all of the times he has managed to escape difficult situations on his own. But there are far more indicators that prove that he is extremely intelligent.
When Admiral Zhao tells Zuko about Firelord Ozai's plans, Zuko responds by saying how stupid they are. He can see clearly while Ozai and all his generals and admirals are too ambitious to see they are wrong.
8 Not Ravenclaw: "In The Darkness, Hope Is Something You Give Yourself."
Zuko is one of the most hardworking characters ever created. He is ready to do anything to get his father's favor back which also happens to help him survive and fight when anyone else would give up.
At the same time, he is able to find hope in trying times. This could potentially make him a Hufflepuff as only Hufflepuffs are so optimistic.
7 Ravenclaw: The Confrontation Between Zuko And Ozai
Once Zuko had joined Team Avatar, he officially became the enemy of the Fire Nation. His father was outraged at his son's decision, but probably not surprised considering how he disregarded Zuko even before that.
Naturally, when the time came, Zuko confronted Ozai and told him everything he thought about, well, everything. The way his father treated him, the way the Fire Nation was oppressing everyone, and the way Zuko would no longer listen to him.
6 Not Ravenclaw: "I Want The Avatar. I Want My Honor, My Throne. I Want My Father Not To Think I'm Worthless."
Perhaps Zuko's most defining feature is his fixation on honor. Of course, until he realized it's something he already has. But until then, reclaiming his honor was Zuko's biggest wish.
And this obsession can actually show that Zuko is a Gryffindor or a Slytherin considering that both of these houses are quite interested in maintaining a particular reputation.
5 Ravenclaw: "Zuko: It's Okay. I Used To Think This Scar Marked Me. The Mark Of The Banished Prince, Cursed To Chase The Avatar Forever. But Lately... I've Realized That I'm Free To Determine My Own Destiny, Even If I'll Never Be Free Of My Mark."
Zuko's smartness doesn't just come from him being able to solve complex problems and create intricate plans. His intelligence and wisdom grow as he reevaluates what is important to him.
This realization about his scar and his destiny is obviously not something anyone can admit to themselves which makes it all the more impressive. A Ravenclaw would be most likely to admit it.
4 Not Ravenclaw: "Never Forget Who You Are, For Surely The World Won't."
Zuko and Draco may seem different, but they do have a lot in common. They both grew up in a toxic environment, but end up reevaluating what's right and what's wrong.
Nevertheless, Zuko just like Draco remembers what is expected of him and tends to act accordingly. He is a banished prince whose only hope to be accepted at home is by capturing the Avatar, so that's what he'll do. This self-punishment and the darker side of Zuko may signal that he is a Slytherin.
3 Ravenclaw: "During The Meeting, I Was A Perfect Prince... The Son My Father Wanted. But I Wasn't Me."
When Zuko joined Azula and her friends for a while, he got to visit his father. Then, as he discussed the event with his girlfriend Mai, he realized that the meeting he attended with his father didn't bring him happiness even though that was what he had wanted all along.
Moreover, Zuko could finally see what was wrong. His father wanted him to be the person Zuko could never be. Only a Ravenclaw could dig so deep into their soul and realize that.
2 Not Ravenclaw: "My Honor, My Throne, My Country. I'm About To Lose Them All."
Aang and Zuko have always been at the center of the show. Their evolution from enemies to friends is one of the central relationships in the show, but Zuko's initial obsession with Aang stems from something quite simple: honor.
Zuko's obsession with honor is what drives him, but at the same time, he only somewhat realizes why it's so important to him. This pursuit of reclaiming his honor might show that he is actually a Gryffindor or a Slytherin.
1 Ravenclaw: "To Perform The Technique Requires Peace Of Mind. / Zuko: I See. That's Why We're Drinking Tea, To Calm The Mind. / Iroh: Oh, Yeah, Good Point. I Mean, Yes."
Uncle Iroh has always had something wise to tell his nephew even though Zuko would often ignore him. After all, he is just a teenager and teenagers tend to rebel against their elders.
Luckily, Zuko did realize just how much Iroh could teach him. When they sat down to drink tea and study lightning bending, Zuko decided to truly listen to what his uncle was saying to the surprise of Iroh who just simply liked drinking tea. Yet, this observation does show that Zuko is quite smart which makes him a Ravenclaw.
