KUWTK: Why Kanye Might Switch From Adidas to Nike | Screen Rant

Kanye West of Keeping Up With the Kardashians took to Twitter on Wednesday to challenge major retailers Adidas and Gap. West alluded to switching from Adidas to Nike.

Kanye and Adidas are linked in the minds of the public since KUWTK star Kanye's sneaker designs for Adidas are prized, including Yeezy Boost 350 V2s. The business relationship between Kanye and Adidas is profitable and seems to be positive in terms of giving both parties cachet. However, he has expressed displeasure over his music contracts lately, and Kanye West is now revisiting his fashion contracts, including his agreement with Adidas.

The 43-year-old took to his Twitter Wednesday to call out Adidas for not making him a part of its board of directors. His message to the sportswear giant was this, "I’M WEARING JORDANS TILL I’M ON THE BOARD OF ADIDAS". His tweet featured an emoji of a man skiing. The Daily Mail reports that the sportswear brand saw their share prices drop following his tweet. West, who has been working on a Yeezy Gap line which is set to drop in 2021, also released this statement to his Twitter followers: "I’M NOT RELEASING NOTHING ON GAP TILL I’M ON THE BOARD." According to Complex, West, whose namesake brand Yeezy delivered a whopping $1.3 billion in sales, is pushing back at the Adidas contract saying he is not allowed to wear Nike Air Jordans. He returned to the platform Thursday morning to comment further on the matter:

With energy unheard of, West calls for stronger bonds in the sports retail market, with a collaboration between Nike and Adidas. The Internet is shaking as people create memes and messages in response to the Tweet posted above.

User @GlitteryBootz replied, "Adidas been around since 1949. You've released some innovative footwear, but demanding to be on all these boards when your fashion brand is still in it's early stage is more beneficial to you than them. I'm a fan, but you really be who tripping."

His recent approach with both Gap and Adidas has been on the cheerful side. He has taken to his social media platforms several times in the past months to tout collaborations, designs, and more. On September 21, Yeezy took to Twitter to showcase the latest designs for his sneaker line, following a meeting with footwear designers Mark Miner and Randal Yarborough.

Fans were delighted to see upgraded and elevated styles in an array of colors. Kanye's vivid imagination often fascinates his supporters.

Adidas, Gap, and Nike have yet to release any comments on the matter, but it should be interesting to see what happens next with Yeezy and the sportswear giants. Kanye is moving on from Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and may move on from some other ventures also.
