The Aries sign is a fire sign and a very emotional sign. Aries tend to experience emotions in waves, with their highs being very high and their lows being low. Aries are also a very empathetic sign, which makes them sensitive to other people's emotions, and they tend to feel whatever is happening around them and take that on themselves.
Aries have a lot of passion, and when that is mixed with their empathy, they actually make great friends to have in a crisis or a tragedy or if someone needs a shoulder to lean on. Because they carry around so much emotion, Aries love a good cry, and usually look for films that will get that out of them. Here are a few title suggestions and a couple to avoid for any Aries.
10 Cry: P.S. I Love You
The love story at the beginning of this film, between Holly, played by Hilary Swank and Gerry, played by Gerard Butler, is so good and believable, that when viewers find out Gerry is dead, it is devastating.
Not only is the story sad, but Swank's performance as a woman who has just lost the love of her life is heartbreaking, and for an empathetic Aries, it is definitely a performance that will bring a tear to their eyes.
9 Not: The Notebook
Aries need to have a little originality in the movies they choose to watch. At this point, The Notebook, starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling as young lovers in the 1940's, is a little overplayed.
This is a film everyone has seen or knows the story of at this point, so it won't provoke much emotion from an Aries. People born under the Aries sign need something more imaginative and unique if they're looking for a good cry.
8 Cry: The Pursuit Of Happyness
The Pursuit of Happyness is a biographical drama starring Will Smith and his real life son, Jaden Smith. The story is about a man, Chris Gardner, who just wants the best for his family, but struggles to make that happen.
Gardner's perseverance and determination to work hard to give his son something better is not only inspiring, but will definitely make an Aries cry because they will be able to feel Chris' range of emotions as they watch his story play out.
7 Not: A Walk To Remember
This is another story that Aries has heard before. Like The Notebook, this love story was also originally written by Nicholas Sparks and then later turned into a film starring Mandy Moore and Shane West.
Nicholas Sparks' stories have a specific formula, which makes an Aries feel like if they've seen one of the movies based on his books, they've seen them all. The lack of newness in these stories won't provoke any emotion from an Aries, if they even watch it.
6 Cry: Titanic
This historical drama tells two tragic stories. The first is about the real life tragedy of the Titanic and all of the people who died on April 15, 1912 after the ship deemed "unsinkable" crashed into an iceberg, puncturing it badly enough to cause the entire thing to go under in just a few short hours.
This film also tells the fictional story of Jack and Rose, two passengers on the Titanic who fall in love before tragedy strikes. Both of these stories will bring tears to any Aries' eyes.
5 Not: My Sister's Keeper
This feature film, starring Abigail Breslin and Cameron Diaz is about a young girl, Anna, who is born to be a "savior sister". Anna's older sister Kate is very ill, and because neither of her parents are matches for the transplants she needs, they decide to have another child through in vitro, who can be a match.
The film deals with so many moral issues surrounding these real life medical procedures, that Aries will most likely be more focused on those issues than on the tearjerking performances bringing the issues to light.
4 Cry: Marley And Me
The Aries sign has a soft spot for animals, especially dogs. In this film, starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson, a young couple adopt a puppy who turns out to be "the worst dog in the world". Despite how difficult Marley is, this family loves him unconditionally and is with him until the very end.
Everyone knows that dogs don't live as long as humans, but having to accept that fact or watch others say goodbye to their pets provokes a lot of emotion from an Aries.
3 Not: Good Will Hunting
Aries won't find this movie very sad, but may love it for other reasons. The Aries sign definitely appreciates good filmmaking, and the story behind making this movie is one that people born under the Aries sign will find inspiring.
Though Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Robin Williams give incredible performances in the dramatic feature film, they aren't necessarily "sad," and will most likely provoke more positive emotions from an Aries.
2 Cry: A Star Is Born
This romantic drama starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga may be one of the saddest movies an Aries will ever see. The performance Lady Gaga gives as Ally, especially at the very end of the film, will send an Aries over the emotional edge.
The film is a beautiful love story with a tragic end, and out of the four remakes of this title, this most recent one is definitely the saddest.
1 Not: Inside Out
An Aries is a very curious sign and they love to learn about themselves and the human experience. The Aries sign will love Pixar's Inside Out and the way this film explains brains and emotions in such a clever way, but they will most likely be too intrigued by all the information that it won't provoke much emotion from the sign.
People born under the Aries sign will walk away from this film with a better understanding of themselves, but they won't need any tissues to dry their eyes.
