New Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 fan art unites the characters played by Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield in one image. Though Holland is the current Spider-Man, Maguire and Garfield's turns in the role were influential as well. In fact, for a long time, Maguire's was the definitive take on the character, leading Sam Raimi's beloved trilogy in the 2000s. Five years after Maguire's last film, Garfield took on the role, appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel. However, poor reception meant that a third film was never made. Instead, Sony made a deal with Marvel for Spider-Man to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Holland's iteration of the character was born.
The newest Spider-Man has been met with almost universal acclaim, and many feel Holland takes the character back to his comic book roots. His Spider-Man's relationship with the Avengers also sets Holland's version apart. Since basically the start of the MCU, fans had been rooting for Spider-Man to join the fun. That anticipation, along with Holland's easy chemistry with the Avengers, made all the difference. The actor has already starred in two solo films as Spider-Man with a third on the way next year. However, at this time, there isn't too much known about it, allowing audience imagination to take over.
This is shown in new Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 fan art by pabloruizzx, which unites Holland, Maguire, and Garfield's Spider-Men. The poster is impressive for a number of reasons, especially the attention to detail paid to each actor's costume. It makes the subtle differences between each suit clear, which leads to a striking image. Check it out below:
Though the three Spider-Men haven't appeared onscreen together yet, it almost happened in the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Last year, the film's co-director, Rodney Rothman, revealed he wrote a scene with Holland, Garfield, and Maguire in it. However, it was ultimately scrapped so as to avoid confusing viewers. Soon after, Holland shared the scene would have taken place "in a train station or something" and said he was "heartbroken" it never happened. However, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 is on the way, so there's always a chance the scene could happen in that movie.
Until that or something similar comes to fruition, this new Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 fan art gives some idea of what a meeting between these Spider-Men could look like. Considering the success of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, a live-action joint Spider-Man movie seems like the next logical step. Hopefully, if that happens, Holland, Maguire, and Garfield will all be willing to take part.
