Season five of Shameless saw the focus shift from Frank Gallagher's miserable lonely life to him having a partner. It was one of the best things the writers could have done in the series and because of that, the fifth outing turned out to be another good addition to the Showtime Original.
Besides that, Fiona Gallagher continued her merry way of breaking hearts, by moving from one man to another until she fixated on Sean. Going into season six, this was one of the most anticipated storylines, along with Ian's journey from a young teenager to a bipolar adult. Here's how every episode from the sixth outing of the show ranks according to IMDb.
12 "#AbortionRules" (8.1)
In the second episode of season 6, the focus shifts to Debbie and the best parts feature her going up against the children at school, because, it turns out, people aren't always happy with young moms.
Fiona wants to persuade Debbie to abort because she doesn't want Debbie to stop living her life for a baby at such a young age. But, Debbie isn't accepting any of it. She is determined to be a mom.
11 "Pimp's Paradise" (8.1)
In the seventh episode of season 6, Carl is really acting weird. He has converted The Gallagher house into his crib, or at least, that's what he refers it to be.
Fiona has gone back to Sean amidst the changing landscape of her family, while Lip is struggling to cope with his recent breakup. Ian and Caleb, though, are getting closer and getting to know each other.
10 "Paradise Lost" (8.4)
In the tenth episode of season 6, Sean has moved into The Gallagher house, as Fiona, aiming to get the marriage right this time, is planning something traditional for the occasion.
Elsewhere, Kevin, Veronica, Svetlana have some work to do but Kevin isn't happy with not being included. Also, the family couldn't be happier at the fact that Fiona is finally doing something for herself.
9 "I Only Miss Her When I Am Breathing" (8.5)
In the first episode of season 6, Frank isn't happy or one can say, he is now starting to appreciate life after losing Bianca. While the fans feel for him, the way he acts makes for a couple of hilarious moments.
Also, Fiona has to act like a mother again; this time it concerns Debbie's pregnancy test and Ian's meds. Both of them need to be looked after.
8 "Refugees" (8.5)
In the fifth episode of season 6, Ian is hanging out with the firefighters, albeit not for the job. As The Gallaghers are evicted from their home, everyone finds a place to live.
Fiona and Carl make their way over to Sean's, while Lip reunites with Amanda. That's not to say that they have given up on their house, it's just that they are looking for the right time to strike.
7 "Be A Good Boy. Come For Grandma" (8.5)
In the eighth episode of season 6, Carl learns that the theft business is not easy and while he is trying to get out of it, he will have to pay a price because that's how it goes.
Fiona wants to get closer to Sean, so she sets out to know his son, Will. Lip is experiencing the side effects of his breakup, while Ian and Caleb are looking like a good pair. Frank is up to some of his usual antics elsewhere.
6 "The F Word" (8.6)
In the third episode of season 6, Fiona has two things to take care of. One, she has to convince Debbie about abortion but it looks like she has given up. And the second one is a surprise as she reunites with Gus.
Meanwhile, Lip and Ian have a brotherly fight and they realize that they have to go on different paths. Frank, like a true father, gives Debbie his support for the coming child.
5 "Going Once, Going Twice" (8.6)
In the fourth episode of season 6, The Gallagher house is up for auction. That means every single member of the family must try to make some money so that they don't end up losing their house.
Fiona is taking unforeseen measures, while Lip is away with Helene. Ian is making his own discoveries and Frank is, well, doing some things that really don't matter at the moment.
4 "NSFW" (8.7)
In the sixth episode of season 6, Fiona has a chance to buy back The Gallagher house but it comes with conditions. Lip is trying to do everything to help Helene, as legal charges are pressed against her, but Lip ultimately can't really do much.
Debbie has some saving to do, while Carl has some helping to do. Also, Ian goes on his first official date and one can say, he liked it.
3 "A Yurt Of One's Own" (8.7)
In the ninth episode of season 6, a lot is happening but the main bits feature two characters, namely Fiona and Frank. Sean isn't even talking to Fiona and the latter is hell-bent on mending the relationship. She will have to do something about it, though.
Frank is being chased around by drug lords because he stole from the wrong people. And as always, he now wants help to keep his head out of the mess.
2 "Sleep No More" (9.0)
In the penultimate episode of season 6, Frank wants to become a father, again, and he offers to pay for Fiona's wedding, even though he doesn't have that kind of cash.
He goes around town hoping to stumble upon some money, but Sean isn't happy with that. Fiona's future husband calls Frank out on hurting Fiona before both of them enter into a brawl. It's not the end of the fiasco.
1 "Familia Supra Gallegorious Omnia" (9.0)
In the season 6 finale, the Gallaghers cement their spot as one of the most dysfunctional families to ever appear on the TV screens. Fiona is about to have the day of her dreams but there he is, Frank, who is all but ready to destroy Fiona's happiness.
Sean's secret comes out in the open because of Frank. Also, Lip realizes that he is literally turning into Frank, drinking loads of alcohol, and doing drugs.
