Avatar: The Last Airbender is an animated TV show that came on Nickelodeon between 2005 and 2008. In it, there were inspiring main characters, there were gifts that allowed the “bending” of elements and, of course, there was Avatar Aang, who worked to spread peace and maintain balance in the world.
This piece here, though, is all about the clothes that were worn. While some may not consider the fashion of this beloved television series to be one of the most notable or exciting parts, there were some amazing outfits over the years! That is why this list was created: to show off and name the 10 best-dressed characters from this story.
10 Azula
First up is Azula. She was viscous, and when she popped up on the screen, it meant there were going to be plenty of snappy, sarcastic, and snarky comments. One thing is for sure, though: She was pretty stylish.
She came from a powerful family, she had access to fancy resources, and she loved showing off and being in charge. Therefore, her look was always very fierce and fashionable. She also dressed in a wise way, with pieces that could protect her during fights.
9 June
Next up is June, a bounty hunter. Though she was not featured that often on the show, her scenes were always memorable; she was the best at her job, and part of that was due to Nyla, a creature that helped her track down people.
She also had this dark ensemble, complete with straps and areas that showed off her ink. And her hair was pulled back a bit, in a dramatic way that went well with her personality.
8 Katara
One of the stars and main heroes from the story is Katara, and she deserves a spot on this list. She could usually be found in Water Tribe clothing items, such as a blue robe or a blue fur-lined coat, and these items were strong and flowy, just like water itself.
As a fighter, she had accessories such as armbands; as a daughter, she had an iconic necklace; and, as a stand-out character, she had that totally awesome hairstyle as well!
7 Mai
One of Azula's Fire Nation friends, who ended up dating the fearsome Zuko, was named Mai. She was another feisty and strong character, and she dressed the part.
Of course, she wore red, and there were neat details that looked armor-like. Everyone seemed to have distinct hairstyles, too, and hers went well with her wardrobe and attitude.
6 Suki
Another well-dressed person was Suki, a talented Kyoshi Warrior. That being said, she, most often, wore this green outfit, with this unique hat and makeup.
Throughout the series, however, she was seen in a couple of different looks. And each and every time, she looked super cute, as well as powerful.
5 Ty Lee
Someone else from the Fire Nation, who was also part of the Fire Nation circus, was Ty Lee; many of her scenes showed her fighting alongside Azula and Mai.
Her acrobatic skills, long braided ponytail, and gypsy-like garments, however, made her stand out from everyone else. This made sense, as she grew up with six sisters who looked just like her and had always wanted individuality!
4 Toph
As an earthbender, Toph wore green, as well, but she made her outfits her own. Most importantly, she wore this headband with little ball-like details on the side. This one-of-a-kind accessory is part of the reason this accomplished character is on this list.
Additionally, she usually went barefoot and even ripped the bottoms of her shoes out. This was done so that she could “see” with her feet, and it is another unique element that made her look so cool.
3 Yue
There are only a few more best-dressed people to point out, including Yue. She was also part of the Water Tribe, meaning she wore blue clothes that sort of looked like Katara’s. But she was also a princess.
So to elevate her look, she wore this pretty hair accessory, which complimented her style quite well. So pretty!
2 The Singing Nomads
Believe it or not, the nomads are making this list! This group of traveling singers was only seen briefly, but their style and their songs were so iconic.
They were basically hippies, so there were flowing dresses, vibrant hats, flashy pieces of jewelry, and lots of layers. Their ensembles stood out, put their personalities on display, and were so totally groovy.
1 Sokka
Last but not least is Sokka. The female characters’ outfits seemed to be a bit more flashy and memorable than the male characters’, but this main character certainly dressed in a neat way.
Like his sister, he wore traditional Water Tribe garments, and like the other warriors on this list, he had some embellishments that were protective and stylish. So when it comes to the most stylish, most fashionable and best-dressed guy on this show... That would be the one and only Sokka.
